Thats pretty neat. I didnt realize the dash lights were in the prerunners. Probably easier for them to just manufacture all of them the same, then just leave em unhooked on the 2wds.
Congrats on the conversion. Now go test her out :)

Around $5000 but that also includes the Rough Country 6" lift kit and wheels and tires. I also went with new cv axles, hub assemblies and custom driveshafts.

It was the fact that the dash lights were there is what inspired me to do the conversion believe it or not :D

You decided to take the most difficult route of making those dash lights come on

I like it, I’d prefer the shifters you installed to the dial on the dash for the 4x4s anyway.

Yeah trying to do the switch approach is much more involved. Ive heard nightmare stories about transfer case actuators not working at the worst times.

It’s just not the same turning a dial. This is the first 4x4 I have had like that, all my Jeeps had shifters, much more reliable in my opinion.

Nice work! Very impressive conversion. I wish mine was a manual transfer case.

Its a pretty popular swap. Just gotta find a donor FJ.

Damn. I miss my J shifter from my 1st gen. The knob/switch in the 2nd gen...sucks lil smokies. I'd love to see just the conversion of switch to stick in a 4x4.

I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard to do. You'd need a manual shifter from the FJ and cut a hole in the trans tunnel and some wiring. I'm not sure on the difference between the taco and fj case besides the actuator being on there.

Yeah, I imagine. I bet someone's done it. I'd have to rely on someone else's write up. I have zero time to figure it out. Can hardly find time for PM lately, let alone my suspension.

Best way is probably to get the FJ case and RST harness.
