Ugh people and dogs, dont even get me started.

Last summer I removed 2 windows from peoples cars, cuz they think its ok to leave their dog in a hot car.

It is impossible to drive safely with a dog in your lap, and its going to die if you get in an accident. They become your airbag, or go right out the window.

    Yes please

This little dog my girlfriend dog sits for some times always tries to do this with me and my girlfriend just says 'aw let her she wants to be on your lap'

I don't fucking care I can't drive with a little dog trying to lick my face constantly or making it harder for me to steer.

I'll never understand why people take a dog with them to do errends. Only time I would ever take my dogs into the car is A) travel to a location (Toronto for the weekend)
    B) going to the dog park.

    I dont understand it either.

Some old guy wanted to fight me last year because I told him if both him and his wife to into Winners and leave the dog in the car, they will come back out to a broken window and no dog.

Old man: 'Just try it, we go everywhere with our dog its fine'

Me: 'Ok go inside and see what happens' I start to walk towards his SUV while saying this

Old man: 'WTF you think you are doing'

Me: 'The right thing, you might want to kill the dog, but I wont allow it. The moment you go in that store, you wont have a window in that vehicle'

Old man: 'Just try it and I will kick your ass' as he comes back to the SUV.

Me: 'Oh so you are going to stay out here with the dog while your wife goes into the store? You going to sit in the hot car with him?'

Old man: 'No I am going to kick your ass' As he removes the dog from the car, puts on the leash and starts walking it. His wife went inside.

Me: 'Just remember this for next time, by law the dog is depended on you like a child. You can not leave a child in a car, dog either.' As I walk over and pet the dog, fuck he was so mad.

Old man: 'Do not touch my dog asshole'

Me: 'Smiling and laughing while petting the dog'

    :cookiemonster:

The fucks I give are very few and far between. When a dog is involved, the fucks come out.

We did studies of this in school on reaction times. We simply had to retune a sentence on a simulater and not have to cognitively generate a response. We referenced impaired driving reaction times. Was very scary how close of not worst your reaction time is when on the phone while driving or being distracted.

I understand your 'noble' intentions, but if you told me to my face that you were going to smash my window and take my dog cause I was going in a store for 5 minutes, I would of reacted the same way as that guy. Not cool to leave an animal in a hot car, but thats on a whole other level, and frankly kind of a dick move.

Call security/the police, they usually have a specific time limit that animals can be in cars depending on the temperature outside. They also carry laser guns to check internal temp of the vehicle. If it passes the time limit/the temp gun shows above the limit, then they get to smash the window AND give him a ticket if hes in there long enough. If you do it, youre just that night-in-shining-armor asshole who busted a guys window and now you get charged for vandalism and get to pay to replace it. Sm0000th

    Nope actually you are wrong.

The laws in Ontario state, your dog is depend on you. Just as a child. You CAN NOT leave them unattended in a car at any time no matter the temp, just as a child. Summer or winter. Police here do not carry temp guns, would take them 30 minutes to respond to the call, dog 1/2 dead.

If you take a picture of the dog in the car, then remove the window. You will not be charged for anything. The person who left the dog in the car will be charged.

It's also super dangerous to yawn or sneeze, lots of accidents happen because of that too, ban that as well?
On average a person who yawns or sneezes gets distracted for 2-4 seconds, read the studies. Don't get me started on how much distraction hands free talking causes as well or morning commute of an average Joe who drives same route 320 days/year.
    Just saying, ban cars then?
Life is hard, suck it up and stop bitching, everyone in this county is getting "sensitive" and "offensive" :smack:

I give a crap when you are ignoring the road and taking my life in your hands.

If you are having a sneezing fit for 2 minutes, you should pull over and not try to kill everyone on the road.

Wasnt aware you could magically see the internal temperature of a vehicle with your eyes. If youre going around busting windows on the assumption that the dog inside is close to death, when you have no gauge on how long the dog has been in there or what the internal temperature is, youre a moron

I get both your arguments and agree with both of them depending on what day it is and a variety of factors including if I've been laid recently. Just the act of giving the dog owner shit will cause him/her to hurry the fuck up because "that crazy guy" is outside. Call police for a dog in a car and they'll be there 1 hour after the owner has left. I wouldn't take it to 10 immediately but I like to think I'd have said something also. I think it's akin to the cell phone thing with me. I jump to 11 right away when I see someone on their phone because of how often I see it and how dangerous it is.

And for the record, you are still wrong. It is illegal to break a window in Ontario for that purpose.

The regulations state the first course of action should be to find the owner. If they are not close you need to call 911, or the OSCPA and report it. 911 can actually grant you permission over the phone to break the window in an emergency scenario, but you will be held accountable if it is deemed unnecessary or excessive when the police arrive. Just as the officer would be held accountable if they broke the window and realized the dog is fine.

You dont have free reign to go smashing windows whenever you please because you 'think' theres an issue. You need to brush up on local laws

The actual law does not state you cannot leave them by themselves. It states "It is against the law to leave a pet unattended in a parked vehicle in a manner that endangers the health or safety of the animal." And you are not a figure with the authority to determine if the animal is 'endangered'. Thus calling 911/OSPCA first to tell them whats going on/explain the scenario and get their permission to do so.

You can be right and holier than thou all you want but your don’t give a shit attitude will find you on the wrong end of a beating or worse one day.

The problem with these kinds of discussions is one person claims absolute infallibility due to a law they quote. There is no context or situation that makes them wrong. So they go full on smash windows because they are right and therefore all other laws are invalid.

If someone approaches and says hey man you can’t leave that dog in the car and is reasonable about how they approach most people will give in and say you are right and do the right thing. They are embarrassed and will back down if allowed. When you come in all guns a blazing and threaten them most people will confront you back. They will meet a hostile attacker with hostility. Personally from the little I have read from @llamasmurf on this topic you seem like a cowboy who puts his righteousness first and is looking for a confrontation either with the window or the owner of the vehicle. If it were me I would try and find the owner FIRST and if the situation was critical then do what was nessecary.

The world is becoming full of anarchistic douchbags who decide what rules are worth following and justify their actions either with the law or claim the law is unjust so they do as they please anyway.

Summed up everything I was thinking beautifully. If I was the guy being screamed at and threatened with vandalism I wouldn't of been as 'polite' as the old man in this scenario. Last thing I want from a complete stranger is to be outed in a parking lot, threatened and then called a potential 'murderer'. What a crock.
