Get a twisted wire cup brush for an angle grinder or some newish metal. Buy a 10lb spool of wire from HTP America online as that's where its cheap. If wire ain't burnin', you ain't learnin'.
Actually do what they made me do in welding class. Cover an entire 3/8" steel plate (3"x10") in weld beads on both sides, then spend 30 mins grinding it smooth and do it again each night for about 2 weeks straight. Then stand the same piece of plate up and take the weld beads uphill for 2 weeks, after that clamp it to your ceiling and do overhead for 2 more weeks. I thought I'd never use overhead welding but its pretty much all I do if I'm welding under the truck. Use the above method and you'll be a self proclaimed welder in about a month or two. Just make sure you use the same piece of plate as all the grinding will make you a better welder.

I have plenty of time to teach myself to weld and plenty of projects that'll need it but no cash for a welder. I need a damn raise

Not everybody can afford a nice MIG and myself included. I bought a Hobart Stick welder for $350 new. Then I later bought a kit to run scratch start TIG off of the same machine for another $200. Hobart does sell refurbished machines on the Hobart weld shop website. They come with all the same stuff you'd get if you buy new for a couple bills cheaper.

I love tamales but the places around here that say they are authentic and home made are also the places that look most likely to give you Montezuma's revenge

Thank you for doing this. The other thread had one post of "what I did to my Tacoma today" for every 9 posts of jaw-jacking.

yeah I feel kinda bad for polluting the other thread...gets too easy to get caught up in the BS'ing especially when you're bored at work. Makes me look like I'm busy to my coworkers lol.

Luckily our IT department hasn't caught on to my TW habit....or they just don't care. Either way I've made it nearly 3 years here next month so I guess I'll just keep on doing my thing.

LOL mine too...that or I spend my free time when I'm home from work either working on my truck or wheeling it. She's gotten pretty into the whole wheeling and camping thing though. Makes it a little easier to justify spending money on parts and stuff.
