Did you wire it to the main batteries or do you have extras in the bed?

Made my bed floor plate today, overall cost me about $100 and a few hours (time for rubberized paint to dry)
Now I can make the shelves to go in.

How are you sealing that against water, or is that not a concern?

It has a rubberized paint on it to keep moisture out, it won't be rained on seeing how the Cab is on.

Yeah, I don't expect rain to be the source of water as much as water crossings. :notsure:

Thought I would update this thread with some info I got from Front Runner about a rack for the Habitat. Unfortunately it's not what I had hoped.

The gist is that the only option of their's that might work is using track with towers for attaching the rack. Hardly ideal.

The issue with the Tacoma mounting rail is that the current version doesn't have attachment points for the rack in the middle section, so if you cut the rails to fit in front of the Habitat there's nothing to support the rear of the rack.

I sent them the below picture, which was posted in the thread earlier, and they confirmed its an older version of the rails that have mounting points for the rack in the middle section.

So bust on Front Runner. I'm very disappointed. :censored:

Guess I'll try again with Prinsu...:frusty:

    @Moogle

Just noticed you are in A-la-mee-da where they have the nuclear wessels. My friends and I have a meet at Speisekammer when I am in town for a visit.

FWIW i had a front runner on an old Jeep of mine. They were not very good at the improving, adapting, nor overcoming game. So there is likely off the shelf solutions for getting the rack on your truck.

What is the story with Prinsu? Before they moved sales/ownership/what ever to CBI, I had called and they were the same way as front runner. "We don't know, and unwilling to try." I even got the run-around when they had a customer/staff's truck to go look at.

I would still like to get a rack and have been watching the used forum for a used prinsu... no luck so far.

Sigh. Just venting. The customer service in the Tacoma world is a nose above that in the firearm industry.

Speisekammer is mighty good. Looking forward to the weather warming up and sitting on their patio with some Currywurst

Apparently Prinsu racks can now be ordered from CBI, as someone posted they ordered one recently. It's just been frustrating because way back Prinsu made a rack for the Goose Gear 3rd gen build, and apparently the racks are the same from 3rd to 2nd gen. And on top of that I was told on TW by zscott over a year ago that they could make one. Stupid me didn't jump on that sooner, because later I tried messeging him but got no response, I tried three times, nothing. I also should have been more direct then too, but I was naive.

This was before CBI came into the picture. Then when they did, I contacted them to ask but they said they couldn't do it. So then I tried contacting Prinsu again through their website and was told that it's in development coming in the next few months.

I can't imagine how much development was necessary on something they made for Goose Gear over a year ago.

That's my point. Seems a no brained to open the auto-card, hack the cabrack a few inches and click go on the cutter.

Aaand there is a growing market for these campers. :notsure:

Well, I emailed Prinsu (CBI) and was told I might be able to order a rack of I call. Called, and the guy was sort of clueless, and I was not able to order a rack. Just saying how it's still in development, blah blah blah. I didn't even bother to question why it still needs development when goose gear has had one for over a year.

I might be able to put together a rack. The drawing is done and we are cutting a sample on the waterjet. Once it's ready I will make sure it fits and could easily adjust the length as needed to fit any condition.

In the email they said it would be the same price as the extended cab rack, so maybe I should just order one of those and cut it.

..seems like the correct move. all this marketing chat from the vendor expos is just good chat...i'd suggest ordering the extended rack, cutting it to fit, then sending the remainder back to CBI
