It’s pretty easy. The hardest part was getting through the firewall

Are you talking about installing a set of factory fog lights on a truck that was not equipped with them, or aftermarket fog lights with a switch in the cab?

    Two things.

If they are genuine "factory" lights, they bolt right in after you pop out the blanks in the fog light space. The wiring should already be there; just plug them in.

Second, you will need the switch for the dash; the wiring plug should be there too. You might also have to install a small relay on the wiring board behind the driver's side kick panel.

I was wondering the same thing. I replaced my fog lights with the caliraised leds. My dad has a little two wheel drive Tacoma without factory fogs. I just gave him my old factory ones. I poped out his blanks and put the lights in but didn’t see any factory wiring anywhere. Is it tucked up somewhere maybe that I didn’t look or what?

Don't go OEM, overpriced when you can go aftermarket for like 80 bucks. I bought mine on Amazon and they've been great. The blanks pop out of the bumper easy and then you just have to fiddle with the lights till the pop into place. If you're not prewired for fogs you run the wires to the battery, and to a ground point on the fender. Make sure you wire a live cord into a fuse so it doesn't trip and catch on fire. I wired mine into the trailer fuse. Then feed your switch through the fire wall and its a done deal. Took 1 hr and 80 dollars and I couldn't be happier. OEM kits were like 300-500$ I heard people say Toyota wanted like 800-1200$.

Some trucks are prewired for fogs. Some are not. If yours is prewired, you must use the factory Toyota switch. If yours is not prewired, I think it's more economical to buy the aftermarket kit with wires, relay, and switch. If yours is prewired, look in marketplace for someone selling their OEM fog lights.

The amount of things that are pre wired on these trucks is insane lol. Went to take off my tailgate, and there was wiring for a back up cam. And I also have the satellite radio receiver, but neither are hooked up.

From what I’ve read in other threads, it seems like most 2012-15 4 cyl models are not prewired for fog lights. I assumed my 2013 might be since it was a SR5 but it was not.

If you want to go factory, there is a full OEM wiring harness and switch on eBay (ray’s auto) for $168 plus shipping. Used factory fog lights are often for sale on this site. As others have mentioned, aftermarket version is much cheaper.

There are many installation You Tube videos for 2005-11 and 3rd generation; however, I have not found one for the 2012-15 models. The wiring diagrams and written instructions I’ve seen are inconsistent. To install the interior on/off switch, do you have to remove the kick panel and part of the dash or can you just use use a bottom row blank spot which is accessible through the fuse box opening?

Mine had the fuse for the switch built into the harness, so it was just plug and play

I've been looking to do the same thing on my 5 lugger base model and have a bull bar with light bar that I plan to install/wire all at the same time - Having it be prewired sure would be great - Has anyone here done this on a base model that old?

My 07 prerunner dclb was pre wired but I ran into problems along the way, but finally solved it. Wires are hanging there at the bottom of the front bumper if you are pre wired. You need the exact factory Fog light button plug from the dealership. I bought 2 OEM ones from eBay, didn't line up with the wire plug in behind the blank button, or actually fit in the slot where its suppose to be. Then you got to add the fuse into the engine bay. I was already annoyed, so I recommend getting the button and fuse at the dealership. Fog light wise, I got from eBay. Its been way too long so I couldn't tell you which ones to get. Just look at the picture and match the connections
