Try this: Leave your camera at home on one of your trips. Report back noting the differences in your experiences.

Note: I will miss your images!

Same for me. And looking at the photos just makes the entire trip more vivid.

I don't have problems remember that stuff by looking at the photos.

I'm guessing your more focused on driving than looking out the window?

I feel like the same is true for me, but I wonder if it's an illusion, since I've never really tried not taking photos; I think that's what the article is saying - that it's an illusion that we think we remember more.

Either way, I value the photos for later - not just for myself, but so I can show my friends and family the beautiful places, so I don't care if I'd remember it "better" if I wasn't taking pics. We all remember the same sights differently anyway.

Edit: all that said - I do think there's a real point to this, but the author may have missed it. There's a trend today in society to always have a phone out, snapping pics for your facebook or insta feed. In that case, I think people probably do miss the details (of life) because they are just looking for the next quick pic that will get them a bunch of likes. Essentially, changing the point of the picture from capturing a moment you've already taken in and enjoyed to fishing for approval.

    PSA: wear your seatbelt.
Last weekend my Ma was hit by a 14 year old girl doing 65 while my mother was waiting to turn off the highway. Totaled 3 vehicles (one from oncoming traffic that hit the wreck too. Everyone walked away.

I agree. Its not like I don't take a photo and then sit back and take it in after or before. Im sure its more for the phone snappers out there. I mean I've taken a few shorter trips and forgot the camera and I definitely don't remember those ones very well.

shit man. Glad she wasn't hurt.

Indeed it did. We bought it back from insurance and had it sold and delivered before getting back home. Only had 97k on the ls 5.3... Going to a jeep conversion

Honestly at 7k, I probably would. Mostly because I still dig the old school look, all the parts available, and the motor swap looks clean.

it looks like a very well done truck.

But Id rather have a 97 tacoma. Coil over front suspension. Better interior with more space.

I am a bit partial but do love the early trucks. Just dont think its worth that much.

Hey, what's everyone been up to? Lots of fun I hope. Been absent for a bit, had a couple fires in Colorado to go to. Hopefully I can sneak in some fun time before the next one .

Yes it was, this year has started in April for me. So I'm not too hopeful that this year will be any different than last .
