I can sympathize. I am pretty sure I tore my Achilles’ tendon earlier this evening. I’m being dumb though and waiting to go to the doctor until tomorrow so I don’t have to pay ER rates. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for things to go smoothly for you and your daughter

They can’t get it out. They confirmed it’s in there via X-ray but they can’t locate it exactly so they really barely tried. Orthopedic surgeon is expecting our call in the morning. It’s a half inch long and in the arch area. Gotta come out.

Damn you must’ve been at the ER since like 3pm to have seen a doctor and gotten X-rays already! Why does going to the ER always take for-e-ver?

 

Sounds like my cousins hand.. got a large splinter in the palm. Like 5 trips to the doctor, a few cuts, digging around with tools and they couldnt locate it. Like 4 weeks later it came out on its own. $6k+ out of pocket donated to our broken healthcare system.

Yeah it’s the new urgent care and emergency place on Harmony road. UC Health place. Wasn’t busy at all. Hopefully less painful out of pocket than Poudre Valley Hospital. We’ll see!

 

Good friend of mine had a bad accident that involved a nail gun and a ladder. He had a whole bill strategy and just refused to pay it. Finally they called and negotiated. My friend compares the health industry to the used car industry. They just throw big prices on everything and hope people will pay it.

 

Yup.. being self employed, young, healthy, non smoker, no pre existing health issues, the current situation is for me to pay for the ones who use the system. So needless to say it's MUCH cheaper to go with the yearly tax penalty vs donating to something Ponzi himself would idealize.
