    Believe transgo makes a kit. Ratiotek I went with because any shop can install it. Toyota fluid sounds fine if you change it more than @100k. Better fluid may be better. how much, I'm not sure.

    It is 6.5" indeed.

    I have toyed with the stuff before, but what I determined was if you go any larger on the harmonic balancer pulley you will have interference issues with the other pulleys so you would in turn have to use a smaller pulley setup in general or you will have to change the tensioner design as a whole.

    I totally remember that. I think we even had a lead on an larger pulley that was manufactured (but discontinued) by some company in the Middle East (UAE?).

    Did they make the CAD drawing or blueprint of their design available?

    Yeah I think you provided me with the measurements actually! :) I don't believe they ever did, that being said I don't ever recall a company in UAE making anything regarding a pulley for our stuff. All it would really take for one of us to make one locally is to give proper dimensions to a machinist, but it would still involve undersizing pulley bearings. I really don't think it is worth it IMO simply because of the work involved when you could just throw a qwikchange on the blower and be done with it. Now if you want a faster revving engine, that is a different story all on its own.

    To be honest with you they are reasons beyond my knowledge. There was either issues with their customer service in the past or something. I know they offered a slightly larger pulley, but it required swapping out the rest because you couldn't run it alone with the rest being stock. Those other pulleys had super cheap China bearings though and were having issues of their own at the time.

    Yup. The idler pulleys for the s/c belt did not last long, and when they failed they chewed the s/c belt. This was because they had to run smaller idler pulleys (some or all @TRON might know) to clear the larger diameter crank pulley, while using cheap bearings. Something about needing the water pump pulley as well?

    People were turned off by that over all expense for only a couple psi, in most cases. Lots of hype, but few sales. Failed bearings also caused potential buyers not to purchase because they would then also have to buy better bearings.

    That’s right @Torspd ... That tensioner bearing would get fried on a NST Kit and 2.85 pulley. I got the micro blue bearings from the start :thumbsup: I ended up with an alternator pulley, water pump/ fan pulley, SC overdrive pulley, and idler tensioner pulley from NST.

    Back then though, everybody was taking their SC off and using CNC for shaving down the snout for a APR 2.7 and 2.6 pulley. And that was more effort than buying an NST Kit. And out of the blue a guy from Australia named JAP did the first snout cut by hand with a snout cutter from zzperformace. Think he even was the first to run 2.7 on the TRD reflash. And the rest is history. ;)

    You do. Rankine is the answer. I think I spelled that right. 459.6+degF. I just did a quickie to see the ratio. When it’s 100 outside I can’t hit the same boost numbers.

    I spent some time today looking at adiabatic vs isentropic. Entropy...there’s a topic. Also Pdv work. I think we need enthalpy of air to really get this right. I didn’t look for those tables.

    I got a ME degree and then went into the gas business and wished I’d gotten a ChemE degree. Traded it all for running econs to invest money.

    I think this company in South Africa (not UAE, my bad), in the past, made a larger crank pulley for TRD-blown 1GR-FEs. But I can't find any reference to it these days, sorry.
