Sorry if this has been asked, I searched and didn't find anything. But when I turn off my air, it stays on. If the air was warm and I turn it off, warm air blows forever at me, if it was cold, the same. It won't stop circulating no matter what.

How do I stop the air from blowing? All the systems are off but it won't stop. Is it not possible? Or am I just missing some really obvious thing here?

Have the recirculation button on while the air switch is off.

There’s a button with an arrow, like if it’s making a U turn (sorry if it doesn’t make sense lol) but it’ll stop the air from coming in. Just doesn’t work if it’s in the defrost mode...

    HOPEFULLY it made sense lol.

There’s always going to be a small amount of air coming from the vents. Supposedly it’s to move air around in the event of an exhaust leak or something. All the Toyota’s I’ve driven seem to do it a lot more than most cars though. I always just ignored it. :notsure:

Edit: Unless there is a way to shut it off and I’m misinformed. Which happens often. :D

Yeah my old 370z would run a little hot and this exact issue drove me NUTS! Because it would get so dam hot in the cab until I figured it out lol.

I'm going to try this button fix they have told me about. My f-150 had some that always came out of the defroster vents it seems like, but the taco blasts it out of whatever vent was selected last and at the same temperature. It's not air from outside, its like it still is making heat or a/c and blowing it on me even though I turned it off.

The corolla I’ve been driving does pretty much the same thing. Thankfully the weather has been decent so I’ve just had the windows down. Plenty of air circulation then.

Yep the other posters are right. You have to turn on internal circulation. If you are on defrost you have to turn it to a different setting them turn it onto recirc because it wont let recirc come on with defrost on.

I think just about every vehicle does this. To stop it, you need to push the re-circulate button on. Without that on, your vehicle is pulling fresh air from outside in through the vents.
