I have a '14 Limited and love the leather seats and the other options it came with. I chose to not get the sunroof due to the headroom issue. You definitely lose space and if you are like me and wear hats at all, its even worse. As far as leather wear, I bought my truck brand new and the seats still look new...even using the seat heaters in the winter has not affected the leather. Just keep them clean and treated and suspect they will last a really long time..

Yea, like anything, as long as you treat it with care, it'll look great and show little wear for many years.
My '96 911 turbo leather seats are still new looking.
Once a month, I go through full detail from interior to paint. I close the garage, keep the wife out, get some cold beers, turn on some Van Halen and get to work. The same I plan to do on the Tacoma.
I see a lot of people wear studded jeans or slide in and out of the seats. Dirt will act as an abrasive and will wear down the soft leather quickly. It'll seriously wear out the side bolsters sliding in and out. You see a lot of older cars with the side bolsters torn to hell.
I always lift my ass off the seat to get in and out.

'Katskin recommended 'BLACK'(and who wouldn't??) and I have to say it's a PERFECT match to the rest of the inside.

John (on the TACO forums with Affordable Leather Care from AZ) can install if local or send you a kit. I say kit as it can get extensive- do you want door and dash to get leather? they have different types of leather - full or parts you sit on...

I've installed Katskins on a prior 4 door wrangler (before Jeep had this option) and did the taco and it's a few hours of your day- John can even sell you hog ties and a hog tie tool. literally idiot proof, like a rebooted sitcom after 20 years in hiding.

    sorry I'm on Ambien

Probably not on his lot for sale. Dealers want to move the inventory they have on hand.

Sounds like me except it’s a 91’ and it’s Rush or Queen.

KatzKins and Clazzio are seat cover replacement manufacturers. They're roughly $500+ depending on your style. They are real leather if you choose. They literally replace your factory material. You will need to install yourself and takes a good part of your afternoon to do it.

What is the installation process like?

Is it something a complete idiot with no knowledge of mechanics or vehicles can do?

You will need some kind of crafty skill because they fit tight like a glove and will need some working. A complete idiot can't do it, but maybe his parents can.

Clazzio don’t replace your factory material. Only Katzkins do. Pretty sure clazzio can be had for under $500. Katzkins are usually around $1000.

My mistake, you are right Clazzios go over factory and Katzkins are replacements.

How you buy a new truck without actually seeing it is beyond me.

i think he meant the salesman told him leather or sunroof wasn't available at all, so he settled for a SR5 with neither option.

I would not trade an 18 off road in for a 17 used limited. Makes no since to me. I did get the 18 trd pro but was actually getting an OR with prem and tech which has sun roof and leather. Mine has leather no sunroof. I would of liked the sunroof but honestly ok with not having it. I liked the color in Calvary is why i got the pro instead and it was $3500 more than the other one. To me the leather is ok but i had Katskins in my last truck and it is for sure better leather. id keep it. id take that truck you have

Op, if you have money to burn then do it. I wouldn’t get the used one as it’s probably almost as much a new one. I’d get another new one with all the options if I could afford the loss.

Did you get an Off Road or a Sport? Your pic is of a Sport. The new Off Road has all the options you’re looking for. Go to the Toyota website and “build” one to your liking. It’ll also give you a good idea of what’s available in your nearby dealers as well.

For some of us, it's because they don't make it. Long story short, I traded my 2018 Sport for a 2018 Off-Road because while I really wanted an ACLB MT config, it wasn't the best fit for us. I bought the truck for me and figured I could just upgrade diffs and all in a few years like I've done previously but dropping a fat chunk of cash on a ring has a funny way of reorganizing your priorities. I can't really commit to dropping $5k in upgrades on something when life is quickly moving from my to our.

I lost $4k off the top with my Sport at 5 months, 3k miles, and picked up a DCLB MT Off-Road. I got half the interest rate (1.9 vs 3.9) which ate up most of the loss and while ARB front and rear would likely be better, ATRAC and the locker are probably sufficient for anything I'm going to do given I'm more into overland than crawling.

That said, the only reason I did the swap was the 1.9% promo financing, the great price on the new truck, and the fact I got free reign at the dealer to buy accessories at cost.

yeah that 1.9 is great. Over time OP I think you are going to trade the hit will be 4 to 5k on average front side but think it is less than going used limited
