Stereo/speaker system

Hey guys,

Need help! Am looking to upgrade my stereo/speaker system but where do I start!? Am looking for one that has Navigation/DVD and also affordable.

I would start with the head unit and work your way back. Thats just my opinoin.

I haven't done car audio in awhile, but when I did Ikesounds prices were unbeatable

 

What sort would u guys recommend seeing i would want one that has the GPS/DVD?

 

I find my alpine doesn't look quite right in the tacoma but works great.

 

The best navigation is Kenwood with Garmin. They have a poor user interface on the rest fo the radio though. Pioneer has a great user interface and comparably weak GPS. Alpine has a historically unreliable unit with poor GPS. Do you want a better user interface for the radio and ipod or better GPS? Kenwood is also a little over priced and you must look around for a deal. If you drive offroad and want topographical maps for offroad use Kenwood/Garmin can do that. The others cant.

 

AVIC X910BT. I have it, and it works great. Its Pioneer, and I have to disagree with the above poster. The GPS Nav is good. Has 3D! Its awesome.

 

I'll agree with garmin have some of the best gps out there, I like the alpine because it has good canadian maps/info

it seems the only one that is feasible in the price range i am looking at is the Pioneer --cant remember the model # but it's only like $349 or something --and man all the stereo on that site are expensive!
Is that how much i have to fork out just to get GPS --that is pretty much all i want alongside having a bigger screen --

the model number is Kenwood DNX5140 (DNX-5140)

and yah its an older version. I beleive the new version is 5160. Like the others said, check out sonicelectronix.com for pricing and info because kenwood's website will only have the newer models.

 

Got it!!!! thanks and yes i think the 5140 is discontinued but likey the 5160 for $949!!?? wow is that the going rate??!!!
