HD springs are $180 a pair
No charge to swap them since we open up every shock anyways

Hey guys, I just got my 2.5 RR rears. The shock comes with a bushing and sleeve thats 1/4" too wide for the Tacoma, so Headstrong sent me a replacement sleeve and bushing that will fit the Tacoma lower shock mount. So far I'm still trying to get the stock bushing out which as been a serious pain in the ass, but another issue is that the new bushing is about 1/16" bigger in diameter than the sleeve. Is it supposed to be that way so that the bushing pushes the sleeve out to fill the hole in the shock? Or do I need to get a new smaller bushing?

I was in the same boat and decided to go with the 2.5's. I liked the idea of not having to worry about rust with the 2.0's (aluminum) but opted for the 2.5's because they can easily be adjusted on the truck which will come in handy when I decide to upgrade the rear. And to help prevent any rust buildup, I treated my coilovers with some T-9 which so far is doing the job.

Installed the Fox 2.0 front and rear with Dakar Medium Leaf Pack. Rides great so far. Will get some better pics tomorrow.

Deciding between a 3-leaf progressive AAL or a full leaf pack (Medium Dakar). Looking for about 1.5” of lift that will also provide (somewhat) improved handling of the occasional 200-300 lbs of load without being too stiff.

The shocks should've came w/an extra set of bushings & sleeves that fit a Taco.
The I.D. of the bushing is 1/16" larger than the sleeve? If so, no that's not correct.

I'm waiting to install a set of 2.5 extended non resi at the height it was setup from the factory, 2" on a 2016+. Do I need brake lines? I read some post that I do but don't see it on everyones install. I got JBA UCA's, and 2.0/wheeler 3 leaf for the rear. Is there anything else I'm missing before tacking this install?

Should be everything you need. I didn’t do brake lines when I installed my wheelers 3 leaf and it was fine. Your still using the stock pack and it still droops the same amount so there not needed. I am in the process of switched to Dakar’s and I may need them now.

You will most definitely need 4"+ with the full Dakar set.

Yea I need to droop it out and see how bad it is. I have a spacer on there now, it’s the one that comes with the pro suspension kit. I finally installed the rear after all this time. Now I need to drive around and see where I want the rear, right it’s full soft and it’s a little bouncy. And a pic because why not.

I accidentally carried 1,575 lbs with mine the other day. :ohsnap:
Long story short, load was much heavier than I had anticipated. It wasn't fun or a good idea. I was about 1" from sitting on the bumpstops. Dakar med. with Fox 2.0 RR rears. I'd never do it again. I have actually compressed them slightly more while off roading and flexing. They're kind of stiff with no extra weight in the bed.

I plan on having a Roof Top Tent and gear for trips.. wondering if these will be sufficient. I’ll put the tent and bed rack in storage when not in use. I don’t want a terrible ride with the kiddos

I'd go with medium if I were you. Or you could order the HD and remove the bottom leaf (I believe) if its too much. You can get them for the same price.
