My neighbor has a spare set of leaf springs from his 2016 tacoma trd (3rd gen) and I have a 2003 tacoma trd (1st gen), and I was wondering if they would be compatible on my truck. Has anyone done this before?

No but you could probably use the middle or lower leaf. The pack as a whole will not fit, length are different and center hole position are different.

Ok good to know. I have extended shackles that on there from my lift kit, would that solve the fit problem?

Nope they're a good bit longer (shackles don't let you run longer leafs) and your axle wouldn't be centered in the wheel wells. You could reweld your mounts in new positions to use them but then you just have stock third gen leafs haha.

I used 2008 leafs (2nd gen) on my 97 (1st gen) but like stated above you have to use you original main spring and every thing ells works fine. It defiantly improved sag and ride.

    91 octane.
did you try it? Inserting any of the 3gen leafs? Same situation. Have 3gen leaf pack and a broken 2003 Tacoma leaf that needs replacing.
