I have a very small leak of transmission fluid and while I'm hoping it's just the seal....does my drive shaft look short?

 

Yes, it looks short. @Hugopreston had the same issue with his 3rd Gen T4R when he got a different drive shaft for it. You might need to get a driveshaft spacer because I'm pretty sure those cups should be inside each other, but you also need to check and make sure they don't bottom out when your rear suspension is compressed. Best thing to do, although I'm not sure how you'd do it without getting a transfer case, would be to get a driveshaft with a slip yoke on the driveshaft itself like 4WDs have.

 

I should note that i have a one piece drive shaft. Im about to go measure the diffs to see if there's a difference (im sure the is). Would this cause a slow leak or do you think the seals gone?

 

It did with Hugo's 3rd Gen T4R (also a 2WD with a one piece shaft). Your lift could cause it too, although I'm not sure how lifted you are. The guys running Max Tracs had to get driveshaft spacers to get the driveshaft back in the cup. I know most of them have two piece shafts though. @Timbo's Customs would probably know more about this than me to be honest though.

 

I ordered a 1.5" spacer which should fix it. Only problem is it comes in a week

 

Don't feel bad. The OGT has been sitting on a jack stand for a week now and I'm not expecting to get my new LBJs until sometime mid next week.

 

I have a spacer sitting on my shelf. It’s a inch and a quarter. I removed it completely when I did the 63s

 

BTW folks, it's now June! Time to cycle your mags! I do mine every 6 months. Should probably do it more often, but it's easier to remember on new years and June 1st (plus I have 4 mags for my Beretta 96 so they have a lot of time to recover before the next 6 months.

As far as a range day, I might be down for that. I don't even know if my 96 still fires. The PO had trigger work done to it and a skeletal hammer put on it. In the past it's failed to fire because the hammer fall was too light. I need to get the solid hammer put back in it, but I kinda prefer my 8040 Cougar anyway. It's more accurate, but it lacks the trijicon night sights the 96 has.

 

I'm at 10 years on a few of my ComBloc AK mags. They should be good for at least another 20.

 

Did that cure your driveline vibs, if you had any? The 63's I mean.

 

It took a lot out but I still get a very small amount still
