    The rubbing is probably caused by the 5.25" back spacing versus the 4.5" back spacing. Thanks for the update.

    Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0’s in the rear, Total Chaos UCA’s, Al-lpro expo leafs, K&N cold air intake, TRD headers,Magnaflow catback exhaust,URD short throw shifter, switched out my 60/40 bench seat for some Tacoma Limited seats, Replaced the vinyl shift boot for a leather one, completely soundproofed the cab w/ Frost King. Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
    I’m at the 4x4 shop doing the Tundra brake upgrade and he’s all done but having a problem with the brakes being squishy. He’s been through 2 master cylinder fills to see if there’s any air in there and he’s not getting any. Any idea what it could be?

    Sounds like there is still air in the system somewhere. Did they start by bleeding the right rear?

    FWIW, It took more than a big bottle of fluid to get all the air outa mine. Way more than 2 reservoir refills.

    Im not sure how he did it. I was gone for most of it. Last time going to that place. Dust sheild is rubbing. It took them 4 hours to install a set of calipers and rotors. I could of done it in less time than that without a lift. I just didn’t want to bleed the brakes because I didn’t have anyone to help me. I may bring the truck to another guy I know.

    You mean the rotors? I saw that they were both labeled so I sure hope not.

    He was referring to the calipers. Verify the caliper's bleeder valve is at the top of the mounted caliper. If so, they are on the correct side.

    Has anyone ever swapped a Tundra master cylinder into a 5vz engine after a Tundra brake upgrade? I know many of the Tundras has the same engines. I’m just wondering whether the master cylinders were different being that they had bigger brakes?

    I know that Monte has experimented some with various MCs.

    I'm pretty sure that the consensus was that the 01'-04' MC produced the best braking results overall with the 13WL caliper upgrade.

    I wouldn't do it. The larger MC decreases pressure and increases volume. That makes for a softer pedal.

    Plus you're an 03 so you'd have to swap the brake booster and stuff like I did. Was a lot of work for a disappointing result.

    Do these big brakes fit inside 15” wheels?

    You'll need at least 16" wheels and I believe certain 16" steelies might have some clearance issues.

    can anyone chime in on the ABS system not being compatible witht the larger calpiers?

    i was reading on the 4-runner forum and something was mentioned about the ABS system not working properly after the Tundra upgrade because the MC and brake booster are tuned/designed with the computer to be used specifically with the stock size calipers. Upgrading to the larger calipers will mess with this specific calibration?

    can anyone add anything on this?

    is this a issue for 4-runner only?

    I have a 2004 with ABS and want to do the upgrade but dont want to mess with abs reliability

    I had to trim an inch off each side of the brake caliper dust shield to clear. I also had to do some strategic bending and hammering of the shields to prevent any rubbing.
