    I’ve had similar over heating issues. Would happen on 90F days sitting with the ac on, and even around town driving truck would heat up. With the minimal testing I have done with the csf rad I think it has solved my problems. It will get stress tested hard in July when I go to Arizona and it will probably be 115+ out. Check out the inside fins on your stock rad. Mine were kind of jacked up, and it seemed like the top of the rad was some how bent in two spots. It had to have happened with the PO or some crazy factory issue is my guess. If you wanna wait till July I will be definitely reporting back my findings.

    I’ve now had many days in mid 90’s to 100 degF with the radiator. I’ve seen one 192.2 in 100 degF running 90 under boost up a long grade. If you don’t have one and you’re supercharged, you need one.

    Electric.

    The clutch fan is super reliable and is great for most situations, but it eats a lot of power at WOT and doesn’t move enough air at idle.

    Has anyone thought about a flex fan instead of an electric?

    On my Ranger with the 5.0L swap, initially I ran an electric. Due to the lack of room, I did not run a shroud. In essence, I cooled the middle of the radiator. Worked OK at speed, but slow moving, there was heat buildup.

    I pulled the electric, and mounted a flex fan - and built a shroud covering the entire radiator. Aside from having minimal room for my hands and wrench, it works great! No clutch to wear/fail, the fan is light, and seemingly less drag than the fan/clutch combo.

    Just a thought - I am contemplating doing this on my truck. Disclaimer - I am going to add a supercharger also.

    I found a shroud "kit" from Summit Racing. It is aluminum, and I cut to fit and welded it back together.

    Also, if anyone is interested, I have a Derale electric fan and controller for sale. I ran them on my Ranger for about a year.

    One problem with pusher fans is they block some of the airflow. Granted, when they are running, the moving air will make up for the blockage, but when they are not on, heat won't bleed off as fast.

    IMO, running both types of fans is redundant. You won't get much(any?) additional cooling, and will have extra parasitic drag.

    With my FJ shroud and weatherstripping from Amazon, my fan moves a lot of air. It’s not broken, don’t fix it.

    Mine moves a lot of air too. But sitting still or moving really slow for extended periods with the A/C on, temps do creep up.

    When my truck is over 190 and I shut it off and grab the fan there isn’t much resistance. You would think it would be locked up.

    I’m not sure if it is. I have two pink oem fans and they both act the same. I’m just surprised that the aren’t fully locked up when I shut the truck off. Same with my buddies truck too.
