What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I installed my CB Antenna on my @At The Helm Bed Stiffeners a few weeks ago and you won't have any problems, it doesn't hit anything. I thought it would possibly hit the tailgate, but no, all good. Ooooh annnnnd Bottle Opener FTW!

 

So I don't calculate my gas mileage much, but do it periodically. So yesterday, I avoided the interstate and instead took state highways (50-55 mph roads) and put about 300 miles on my truck doing some exploring. After filling up this am and doing the math, I averaged 20.56 mpg. In over 7 years of ownership, I've never cracked the 20 mpg barrier. This is with shell, Yakima rack and my sleeping platform installed.

 

Cleaned the throttle body and MAF. Almost 120k. I don’t think it’s ever been done.

Those look like the same ones I have. They're much higher pitch, also a lot louder. Hard to tell from inside the cab how loud they really are, but they definitely get the attention of whatever fuckwit you're honking at

 

Insane. East Coast is bad too. Freaking taxes.

 

Drove my buddy to the Toyota dealership to pick up his taco and I spotted a nice 3rd gen with a front runner rack!

 

What' the recommeded interval for cleaning the MAF and TB? 2015 with 27k here.

Not today, but Wednesday. Dropped my Taco at the body shop to get rid of the rust on the door sills and remove the dealership sticker. Picked it up the next day, looks awesome.

 

IMO, yes. You could always put it back on, right?

 

Pretty much behind the drivers headlight. Lock and unlock with the hood up and your find it fast.

 

Emptied catch can after how many miles ?

 

Rebuilt the front end with baja suspension, SPC UCAs, Moog LCAs, Moog inner/outer tie rods, Moog Sway Links, and Energy suspension rack/sway bushings. She’s getting aligned now. Didn’t have time to do the rear shocks and Icon AALs, but will finish those up later this week.



Oh btw, I have a full set of 5100s still in their boxes that I purchased before learning about the baja kit. Looking to sell them for what I paid, $340 shipped.

 

I have to stop washing her. Every time I wash her she finds a way of getting dirty. And I don't have the testicle fortitude to stop her.

Nice and clean! I was hoping to get mine all nice and cleaned up today too but as usual it’s raining! .... and I too thought that little clip in the gas door was to hold the cap! Lol

 

Drove it to work. It was a slow day so I made a new bottle opener. Later on I'll have to test it.

 

Replaced spark plugs today, truck has 240k miles and they looked original, NGK on one side and Denso on the other. They came out rather easy though. It ran good before, should run really good now. Also cleaned the throttle body while it had it apart.

 

When do I get to say I’m EAF?
