Are you just assuming everyone has a loan on a vehicle?

Probably because 99% of people who purchase a vehicle do.

    I can't imagine it's even close to 99 percent.

Awww... that's a bummer Dude. I'm glad everybody is OK. Looks like the lower edge of the cab got damaged. I would suspect it will be totaled.

They could always just replace the Cab if there is damage to the B Pillar.

Kind of surprised the air bags didn't go off. But as others have said glad everybody is ok and yea it seems like it would be totalled. If it was me and I was told "it's repairable" by my insurance or body shop I would immediately refuse to have that truck again. Hope it all works out for the best.

It appears to be straight. Car still drives like it wasn’t even in the accident. Alignment is slightly off but that’s to be expected.

I would be hoping for a totaled truck . Take the cash buy the truck back , have fixed without ins. pocket the extra cash. The first question asked by auto body shops is is it an insurance claim or not . My wife scraped the side of her SUV and without ins. they repaired it for $250 cash . If it were ins. they said at least $1500 lol. What he also said usually any ins. claim was a min of $5000 .

Want to buy mine if it’s totaled? Forget the auction. Waxed and ready to go. 2017 with 3200 miles. No mods, no wrecks, never off road and don’t drive it much. (Phoenix area)

    Maybe not 99
But I'd imagine it's high up there given all the finance rates being low and the fact both Canadians and Americans love credit and 'it's only $x amount a month'

Hell I work with plenty of guys that think new trucks are cheap because it's only $400 a month for 8 years with $0 down

I don't think any cars can anymore.
    They're not really designed to.

They're supposed to crumple like this because it takes away impact on occupants.

And to insurance, paying for a $37k truck is much cheaper than medical bills and lost wages.

These things can be iffy. It all depends on who they send out to access the damage if it’s going to get totaled or not.
I personally would want it totaled because an accident is going to be in the CARFAX report which is going to hurt resale if you don’t plan on keeping this truck long term.
Insurance companies take the cheapest route possible which makes me think they are just going to fix all the damages since this is a late model Tacoma and the damage most likely isn’t going to exceed 70% of the value of the truck.
