Could be a number of problems, problems with paint, rust, a part that looked ok during inspection might have actually been damaged enough to break prematurely, problems you can't see like the ecu might have a hidden code that was set off. It's all speculation but it's all possible, albeit some are more likely than others

Depending on the insurance company's threshold I'm going with maybe not totaled. Without seeing the floor and B pillar all everyone doing here is speculating.

    Exactly, you’re just speculating ....
Under the presumption that, if it’s fixed it’s not going to be fixed right.

So your comment should say something like....if it doesn’t total, make sure you take it to a qualified, Toyota certified collision repair center trained to fix it properly, and not Jim bob’s autobody that your wife’s sisters ex-boyfriend works at to make sure it gets fixed correctly, and you don’t have any problems down the road...so that it sounds like you kinda, maybe, know just a little bit about what you are talking about

I mean, based off of my prior knowledge of auto repairs, anything anybody says is speculation until it happens or doesn't happen. Soooo, yeah. Stop sounding like a pompous ass please and thank you

Who cares if it's fixed or totaled? It's a lease. If it's fixed, turn it in when it's time. End of story.

And all this 'I'd never drive it if it's fixed' prissy pants stuff. Fixed correctly 99.8% of us would never be able to find it had been damaged.

Yep, And if it’s not fixed correctly...you have no one to blame for yourself for taking it to that shop to begin with

I hope you didn’t put money down on the lease as you will lose that money if it is totaled.

    Glad everybody is ok.

No way it's totaled. It'll be fixed.
