    I have dual spal fans. They flow a lot of air. As well as a HUGE radiator. Sitting in hot traffic for extended periods of time, my temps still creep.

    My engine has ductile iron sleeves, a turbo, and exhaust tubing which needs more wrap. All of those components really tax the coolant system. With the old grill that I used to have, it restricted more flow than it allowed. With the factory radiator, I HAD to remove the grill to even get enough flow while moving. My Spal fans weren't applicable with the factor radiator setup. Even in N/A trim, with a 160º t-stat, my engine's temps would be around ~212ºF+.

    Swap in the larger radiator, I have only seen 202, in bumper to bumper traffic, ~100º ambient, with all of the turbo goodies on. Including a 3.5" thick intercooler infront of the radiator.

    Yes. This was @loginfailed idea so I tried it. Fully drained the fan clutch and added one bottle 59cc of 10k fluid. Fan ran too hard all the time even when when not hot so I adjusted the temp on the fan clutch from 120 to 135 and removed about 10cc's of fluid. It's just about right now.

    I sit in traffic some everyday (60 mile round trip commute) in DFW. Even in mid/upper 90's on concrete highway with lots of reflective heat I haven't been over 190. I have the 170 thermostat because I do go to winter. Might be better with 160.

    It's a fluid coupling so it will never fully lock up.

    Does the stock fan clutch come on at 120? I thought it was more like 180-190

    Should be about 125°. Do a google search for fan clutch mod. People have been doing it a long time.

    Your Ron Davis radiator is what started me toward e-fans.

    Still haven’t settled on exactly which fan controller to use yet. Also I want to get the shroud mostly done before deciding on which fans to use. I want to go as big as I can fit. Of course the shroud build is hinging on me getting a TIG. The TIG I want is out of stock until the end of this month

    The one I opened up and tested was set at about 125*.

    I've been deployed to places you guys would never want to see. To top it off temps of 125+.
    But, I hate being cold and wind is the worst so I think I'd take my situation over yours.

    I don’t mind heat....just hate humidity. Cold sucks but to me it’s somewhat tolerable when it’s not windy. The blustery wind we get here in combination with the cold can be brutal. I’m planning to relocate somewhere warmer with no humidity in a few years....I’m sick and tired of the cold.
