Yeah, ouch. I bought a bender instead and put off those kind of things for later, well its later and I never did those things lol. But I live in a climate where corrosion is not an issue and most of my truck is rattle canned so I don't really care about appearance

Anybody coming down to Baja later today or tomorrow? For the Baja500 I need a driver side lower control arm. We broke down at RM247. Let me know if you can bring one. I can pick it up in Ensenada.

    We already had this conversation
Cerakote is abrasions resistant and should hold up just fine

Things are only resistant to abrasion by things softer than them on the Mohs scale - unless that stuff is pure diamond it will get scratched eventually by something.

    Cash me outsy :p

I think he is referring to the process of putting them into the cans...Didn't you have to beat those out of the cans with a BFH to remove them ?

This is what I’m refferrimg to. Pretty standard that the bumps fit tight in the cans

These are all brand new shocks
So we specifically walked the isle at king and looked for a cylinder/can for them that would allow them to slide in smoothly

Baked cerakote is rated to hold up longer and better than type 3 ano so the cerakote will likely wear at the same rate as the anodized parts
Which means they will last longer than they would in their standard coating.

I’m less worried about rocks and dirt and more concerned with salt and grime.

My shocks held up well to the off-roading I was doing
But when winter came the road salt and such made them wear super quick

Cause I keep up with stuff and try to do maintenance and avoid having stuff get ruined, for me doing stuff like cerakote is all preventative work so stuff is easier to deal with or clean later
