I wondered when we would see this. Midsize sales continue to grow, and with Ford bringing back the Ranger I knew it was only a matter of time.

At first I was like oh cool and then I remembered who owns Dodge. Meh..

    Either way, competition is good.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
Meh, technically Fiat acquired dodge in ‘09, but ram trucks became their own entity around the same time. FIAT is still has ownership but they’re still HQ’d in Michigan as a separate entity away from Dodge.

Nothing built by Chrysler/Dodge can compete with Toyota.
Only the ignorant or fanboys would consider that garbage as competition.

My buddy has been a mechanic for many years and the most common cars to come in are Chevrolet’s, fords and dodge. But they are nice trucks!

Dodge makes the nicest, and least reliable trucks out there. Good to see some competition. Maybe now Toyota will decide to add carplay and power seats.

This. If anything it should make toyota strive to be better. There are lots of people who need need coercing to buy a "non US vehicle" (like that means anything anymore) and hopefully competition will bring down prices and bring up quality. Toyota has pretty much owned the midsized market for quite a few years, and we would all want to see them pushed for even better quality snd more innovated (and reliable!) features, at a better price point.

Ya but between the big 3 they sell about 10 times the trucks Toyota does. Imagine all the complaints here if Toyota sold nearly 2 million trucks a year instead of 200k.

My brother 30 year retired Chrysler machinist . He never owned one. Had to park his Toyota’s in the very back of employee lot.

Heres the question. Who has more 200k+ trucks on the road, and which hold value better?

Edit: more trucks on the road at 200k+ as a percentace of their total sold. Thats probably a decent indicator of reliability overall

I agree but do not have those numbers. I was simply trying to say it's not fair to say your mechanic buddy works on a lot of trucks from the big 3 because there are so many of them on the road so of course he does.

    It is good.
Maybe Toyota might fix some of the common problems we read about every day on TW
