    Thanks!

Nope, that isn't too far at all. I bought my truck out that way.

Found a center console for sale on Craigslist for $20! It is a 4runner console. It "almost" fits. I had to do some rigging on the floor bracket. I'll have to go back and make something a little more permanent, but it is nice to have an armrest!! The cup holders on the back even open to hold two more drinks.

I figure I can make a panel and mount USB power outlets or something in the e-brake opening.

You can see how badly I need seats.... not having much luck finding something.

Not really tacoma related, but I am sure some of you can appreciate it!

We bought a new family hauler. We have three kids and I thought long and hard about what suits us. We want to do more long distance trips and camping now that our kids are getting past the toddler stage. I'm not a minivan kind of guy, and the Highlander and Sequoia are not something I see myself driving.

We currently have a Lexus LX450 (80 series Land Cruiser) that needs more love than I feel like giving it.

We chose a 2004 Lexus GX470 with 85k miles. It is an amazing piece of machinery! It is the Land Cruiser Prado in other places. I'm really loving the V8. Planning to mod it a little over the next few years. Already replaced the pitted wheels with a Craigslist find.

I want to see more of the LX450. My mom has been driving a green 96 LX450 (triple locked) for 15+ years and it now has 295k miles. I just bought a 94 FZJ80 that I'm going to use as a budget build.

Would you believe I have almost no pictures of it except on family vacations?

It is a 96, dark green and silver. Has 285s on stock wheels and replacement seat leather and not many mods other than a stereo with Bluetooth.

Been having a shutter while starting from a stop. Replacing the transmission mount because it is cracked and that is all I have found at this point....

Other thoughts on the issue appreciated! Ujoints seem ok.

Is it manual? Maybe pressure plate? Or clutch?

It is manual. One thing I noticed is that it didn't do it in 4wd when driving in the snow.

I'm thinking axle wrap or ujoint. Also have a little play in my driveshaft spines - to be expected at 280k I guess!

Current thought is to try replacing the trans mount. I'd really like to go dual cases soon and don't want to spend on a clutch or driveshaft until then.

Working on a flatbed design as my bed is getting beat up and is rusting above the wheel wells. Looking for suggestions - I like it, but not completely happy with it yet.

Want it to be versitile as I do use it a lot as a pickup, but I want to be able to design and bolt racks and storage solutions to it in the future.

The plastic wheel well pieces are for a box truck, the sides would be skinned with laser cut pieces and painted to match.

Well, I decided if I was ambitious enough to think about building a flatbed I should be ambitious enough to take a few hours to try to fix my bed rust.

After cutting out the rust, it is easy to see why it is rusting, and it makes one wonder why they are not ALL rusted.

My advice, if you start to see it bubble, deal with it immediately!

Here is what it looks like where the support bracket mounts. Filled with mud and crap and holding moisture.

    20180603_150533.jpg

I had a set of used front white fenders laying around so I figured I could cut a swath out of those to use as a filler.

    The rust:

    20180603_094921-jpg_c5c46efb89f1fe4939ec092ca33562100eeccf2d.jpg

    The cut:
    20180603_150343-jpg_22f26bd218bc3ddc94e219de10d5bdbe76c54b56.jpg

    Patch panel:
    20180603_162847-jpg_e8b002aec54ab4a4039e966805f82966d3c92626.jpg

    Think blue tape will hold?
    20180603_162155-jpg_596144a147e988e19ca62ca2ab710f07e8f932bb.jpg

Just test fitting the patch panel to check the curve. That is as close as I could get - the front fenders have a little tighter radius.

Still have to do the other side and weld them in.

Not sure yet what I am going to do for paint... will likely paint a stripe or something in this spot.
