Mounted my Plano case, and relocated all the recovery gear!

With a brand new frame on the truck, having a rusty tow hitch really started to bother me. I'm not one for buying new when the old is repairable, so I decided to give it a shot. Was skeptical at first wether she was salvageable. Happy to report, seems to be much more good metal left than it initially seemed. First I straightened the ears on the hitch back out, chipped away some large rust with a screwdriver, then hit it with a braided wire wheel for the better part of an hour. Will probably go at the rust a bit more, sandblast and primer tomorrow. I have a can of 'frame saver' (for bike frames) laying around, planning to coat the inside of the tubes in that to try to keep any additional surface rust from forming. Hoping to have it all done and back together by next weekend. Anyhow, here she sits.

 

Well. I rounded my rear diff fill bolt. What the hell. Things on there like someone jb welded it in the threads.

That looks alot like mine does . I was looking around the other day and thought heck that things rusty ! Ill probably be taking mine off soon and doing the exact thing youre doing .

Cleaned and oiled the K&N air filter, adder a screen to the inlet of my cabin air filter. To keep the critters out


Then sprayed some silicon lunch on some stuff

Airbags...I put 2k in my bed regularly

 

Got my new safety label for the truck now where do they go.

 

Finished my retros last night. Mini d2s with morimoto 35w hid kit and quadrod switchback shrouds. Excuse the dirty lenses, a lot of bugs on the way in this morning. Looks dirty on the paint but they are not.
