9th Annual South Padre Island TacomaWorld Meet - 07-14-2018

Wow, that is pretty cool! Maybe this year I can finally make the run to the East cut with the other group.

The way things are looking, my little family and myself are going to have to hit the road back to Cali the very next day on the 15th. We both have to be back to work on the 18th and the 17th is our little baby boy's birthday, so we are going to try and not be on the road on either of those two days for the sake of resting and just not being on the road during his first birthday.

I've updated the list. I've added one or two people on there, that if I'm not mistaken, have not confirmed whether they are going or not. I'll be more than happy to make any changes to it!

At least 1/3 of the people that showed up 2 years ago were not on the list, which was a very unexpected but VERY welcomed surprise! The came from the other forums as well. Hopefully it happens this year too!

So, we hit SPI, this weekend, the jeeps had their "go topless jeep run" their turn out was good, over 100 jeeps or at least that's what it looked like. They were camped just north of mile marker 1. Have you decided where the final parking location will be? Reason I ask is there is an as awesome spot between mile 7&8, there you can run the taco's up the dunes. What are your thoughts?

 

Over 100? That's amazing!!! What do you all think the odds are of us hitting those numbers?

To be honest, I have no idea how far up Mile Marker 1 is. Is that in access five? -__-

We usually drive in through access 5 for the "parade" up the beach all the way to access 6 and just find a parking spot big enough for us all.

Last year we did a much better job of parking in 2 parallel lines with tailgates in that in the previous years where it was just one huge spread out line.

So to answer your question, I haven't decided, only because it's always growing and we just drive until we find an empty spot.

Once the parading is over though, it would be ideal to be parked far enough away from the crowds so that when other Tacomas (or Toyotas) in our group leave others that are not in our group take their spot.

There's been a few times when fords or other makes (not part of the group) just park in an empty spot among our group as soon as some one makes a run to the East Cut.


If you say the spot between miles 7 & 8 is good then I'll take your word for it!

 

Heading to SPI tomorrow, the summer crowd is growing, just as quick all of access 5 gets packed. Intering access 6 for about the 1st mile is congested, shortly after mile 2 the crowd dimmers down, that's right now, July is a little more hectic.

 

We had 50 Tacos two years ago! People were just gawking with their mouths wide open seeing so many Tacos driving down the beach.

 

The more hectic the better!

I live in Corpus and fish at PINS.. I have never been to SPI beach area, please count me in! I'm excited to see all those Tacos out there, I have been wanting to customize my 2016 Inferno , this should overwhelm me! Thank you.
