Have you tried the Jeremy Clarkson technique and just start smashing it with a hammer?

Ahhh yes yes. Result is a black finger nail

Actually that happened the day prior. I tried to salvage a circlip for him, smashed my finger, circlip didn’t seat correctly which put him in last nights position haha.

Forgot to update the thread, we fixed it! Lol.

In case anyone's curious the KM3's have launched on the first but are back ordered about a week or so. The 265 75 r16 E will only be about 59lbs per tire vs the 53lbs for the KO2's. They will release a D load version at the end of the year with the same weight.

I’d think it would be a few pounds lighter. Not as thick of a sidewall?

I agree it should be lighter, that’s why he’s surprised it’s stated to weight the same.

Sorry, don't have solution to offer however when I was looking at your photo it appears that your are using a coarse thread bolt which is pretty unusual. Generally you want a fine thread bolt that you can torque tighter and does not create as much " slop " if/when it does loosen up. I've never seen a kit with coarse hardware ?

As the D load, it sounds weird to me too, and homeboy could have been wrong, but it could just be a stiffer compound on the side wall. With that size tire I'm doubting the ride will be noticeable between the two unless you're really trying to split hairs.

Yup.. that's a King 800lb coil spring that just snapped on me.. on pavement.. at a parking lot.. while going over a speed bump. After all the wheeling I've done with my truck in the 2 years I since I got these coils on, the spring decided to give up over a freaking speed bump at 5mph. I got the springs from @Downsouth Motorsports brand new.

You act like that’s a bad thing. Be happy it wasn’t on a trail and leaving you stranded.

Looks like a good amount of preload too. Look for a longer replacement and into linear or progressive springs too. I’d replace both sides at that point.

I don't think it is preload, he has a drop bracket lift kit on the Tundra so those a re longer CO's but since it is still stock travel just a normal length spring.

    That makes sense.

I’d still stake advantage of a longer replacement that gives the coils more room on compression.

The super bumps can also compress more than stock bumps, maybe they need to be extended too to prolong the new coils life.

Kings doesn’t use the best spring material... maybe switch to an eibach spring check out their catalog they should have something to fit your needs. Their springs are made in the USA
