Yeah, Ill be saving for a few months, but im not very happy with the performance of my Icons, so Id rather spend the extra money this time around.

You could just send the Icons into a shock shop like DSM or 303shocks or even Filthy and have them revalve them different and even possible add resis.

Be cheaper than new coilovers anyways

    :notsure:

Different style of shocks. Icon has digressive rebound. King is progressive all around. Some builders say King and ADS have the best internals in the industry..but IDK how accurate that is trufully. Id talk to a shock guy that helps tune them to figure that out. I know that it seems Icons area a love/hate thing. Either people love them, or hate them.

:notsure: It's Matts Mid travel kit he offers now is all i know.

Probably should've posted this here instead of the BS thread; added the OME AAL's to my Dakars yesterday. Can't tell much if any change in ride quality, still rides smooth IMO and sits about a half inch higher in the rear. But the true test will be when I add my camping weight.

Had a pretty gnarly popping noise coming from the back end immediately following the install...double checked the torque on all bolts and everything looks good. Noise started going away after driving around for a few miles so I wonder if it's the leaf packs settling after being disassembled...will keep an eye on the bolts just in case.

It was an option when I ordered my rear kings. Only an extra 200 per shock, downside is they're harder to mount them. I figured 2.5" and resis was overkill enough for my rig already.

The CV axel I put in a few weeks ago didn't have the part the arrow points to in the photo. I think it's a dust shield. How important is it? Does it come off, can I take it off my old one and put it on the new?

When I replaced the CVs, NAPA only had one new one and one rebuilt in stock. The rebuilt one is the one that didn't have the shield and can be seen installed in the second photo. The ribs on the boots on that one are rubbing as well. Maybe I should just get another new one from NAPA and replace the rebuilt one. The new one I put on the other side, has the shield, and the boots on it look a lot happier. They are surprisingly inexpensive, so getting the new one wouldn't be much of a heartache.

You can swap an old one over just fine. I went with NAPA's new units as well, happy with my boot angles.

One of mine dropped off when I removed the CV... I used that one on one of the new axles. Haven't tried to remove one, sorry

How long have the new CV's been in there? Any leaks? If not, I'd probably not bother with it yet.

My tundra CVs didn't have the shield. Haven't had an issue yet.

Ah. That would make sense. They don't use the same steering knuckle design, do they?
