Shifts kinda rough going from 3rd to 4th. When it tries to go from 4th to 3rd, Its like it can't find the gear. Just revs at about 4k then thuds back into 4th.

It will sometimes go into 3rd though. If the truck NEEDS to downshift, it will. If I try to make it downshift, It wont

Not to mention that it makes many strange sounds in neutral and drive

Does it make any weird noise or shutters? Stall at high speed? Dirty the fluid fast?

Strange electrical humming sound in neutral, strange whine in drive. Runs fine and shifts fine except around 3rd gear

alright well...on the drive into work this morning I heard next to none of the same sounds I was hearing last night immediately after the install. I can't help but wonder if maybe the leaf packs had to settle a bit after being disassembled and the new leafs added to them. All bolts are tight, nothing is loose...leaf packs are both centered in place on the axles (my first though was maybe the center pin popped out of place on the axle, but they're lined up). I dunno, weird but it seems to be okay now.

Maybe just check every so many miles just to make sure but yeah maybe it was just settling.

oh yeah definitely, I learned that the hard way after the Dakar install last time...was out on a trail kept hearing this "pop pop pop CRACK pop CRACK pop pop". Couldn't figure it out (should've looked harder) on the trail but when I got home after a 1 hour freeway drive, I saw that my front hangar bolt was holding on by just a few threads and I could remove it by hand. Coulda been way worse...it's the one that's right up against the gas tank so it's more difficult to get a torque wrench on it.

I feel like just everything on the left side of the truck is harder to work on lol unless its the right side rear shackle and you have a 2.5” exhust right there. Thats the only time the right side is hard lol

yeah it was a lot easier this time around because I got my exhaust chopped at the axle a few weeks ago.

Oh and I ended up removing the leaf packs to get the AALs in...no idea how you do it with them on, there was absolutely no room to work with in there. And with the axle under the packs (center pin sitting in it's hole on top of the axle), I couldn't get them to separate for the life of me unless I just took them off completely. Was way easier to pull them off and getting them back on was 10x easier this time around. At any rate, it all worked out lol.

I just push my axel all the way up and leave it on jacks but that’s because im sua and have hella jack stands lol. Haven’t had to do it on a soa truck yet. But i would just put the whole truck in the air on 4 jack stands then just drop the axel all the way down while i worked on the leafs.

It was weird, with the hangar and shackle bolts still attached the bottom of the center pin didn't went to pop out of the axle. And if I was going to remove those bolts I figured I might as well just take the springs out and install the AAL on my sawhorses. Was pretty easy once I got that figured out. I'm sore as hell today though....doing leaf springs always makes muscles hurt that I didn't know I had, lol.

Truck is sitting about a half inch higher than it was before, time will tell if it holds weight the way I need it to. It'll be better, that's for sure.

The RTT stays on all the time, if that wasn't on there then it would probably be really stiff. Honestly I don't notice much difference if any on my ride to work this morning, and we have some pretty gnarly speed bumps that are good to test that kind of stuff out on.

RTT weighs in about about 140lbs if I remember right, so it's the perfect amount of weight to keep on there 24/7. When I'm fully loaded with camping gear I'm usually carrying closer to 600lbs or so, with the weight of the extra fuel, water and supplies. I expect it will sag a little but as long as I'm not riding on my bumpstops like I was previously I'll be okay, lol. I don't carry that kind of weight often, maybe once a month if I'm lucky.

pffft, I couldn't carry less if I wanted to...I always try and carry as little as possible without compromising on necessities like fuel and water.

If it's still really bad (can't be AS bad but still) I'll throw some adjustable shackles on. Oh and next time I have to mess with the U-bolts I'll buy new ones, lol. One of the HS ones was starting to look a little bent, still got it torqued to 90ft lbs though so it's still alive and well.

Oh and I really need to put my extended SS rear brake line in, stock one was getting way too uncomfortably stretched out when I had the wheels off and was adjusting the axle height to install the springs. Next weekend's project...
