    Hey guys (and ladies?)

New from NJ, Toms River/LBI area.

I crept around the forum for a while before actually registering, primarily in the 3rd gen for sale section when I was shopping for one. Initially I was looking for a 2018 OR in Cement fully loaded, but after seeing the out the door price, I figured I'd shop for a 17 or 18 TRD Pro.

Couldn't find a reasonably priced 17 Pro in Cement, however, with white being my second choice, I found one mint with only 8k on it.

    Story time:
Yes, it was 5 hours away from me. No, I had no friends drive me there. I drove my car out there (2011 Charger) after talking numbers with the guys at the dealership for a few days. They said they don't normally register cars that are out of state (bought it in western PA), but I told them I've got a check and I'm willing to drive out there (today [at the time]) if they had everything done for me so all I had to do was sign, pay, and drive.

I talked to a Uhaul dealer before leaving in order to get a car trailer or dolly to tow my Charger home. Cool, had everything organized and had a beautiful scenic drive out there. Super relaxing drive with some good playlists and the windows down.

I sign for the truck, picked up a trailer hitch at the Autozone right next door. I get to the Uhaul place and they say "the computer says you need a heavier truck to tow that car. I can't rent you the trailer or dolly because the computer won't even let me process it." I say okay what if I mistakenly told you Tacoma but meant I have a Tundra. They stated if anything happened to me or the trailer or vehicles, they would be held accountable. Understandingly and rather disappointed, I understood and thanked them for their time anyway.

So, I drove the truck all the way home Friday evening. Saturday morning had a buddy of mine drive me to the Amtrak station in Philly where I took the four and a half hour train ride back out there, and took an Uber back to the dealership to get my car. Luckily another beautiful day, drove home again. All in all, it was quite a little solo adventure to bring this truck home but I don't really have a single complaint. I'd probably just be sitting at home anyway if I didn't have to go back out there.

    Anyway, here it is:

    Future Plans:
New wheels, probably SCS with some bigger tires
    Prinsu roof rack
    C4 Fab low pro bumper
CBI or C4 Fab rock sliders
    camping materials/bed rack

Welcome to TW! That's some dedication to bring a Taco home. I'm glad you enjoy the rig and please, take all of us with a grain of salt. Some think they're done modding their rig and kill time here instead of other more socially acceptable places. For most of us, we grabbing ideas for the next mod. For me, I'm still waiting for my custom ordered rig to hit the production line!

I was thinking about keeping them for resale value with the truck if I ever sell it, but I'll definitely keep you in mind!

thinking about getting a buggy permit for IBSP, worth it? I heard security takes their job way too serious down there while State Park Police are pretty lax

I’ve never seen security only park police. Either way, I just go there to fish so the police usually just wave and keep going.
