First post! Been lurking for about a couple weeks as I'm in the market for a new truck. Looking at the TRD Sport 4x4 with Tech and Premium packages, only option would be a power tailgate lock ($289). I've been using the MSRP that doesn't include the delivery, processing & handling fee which is $40,029 ($41,074 including the fee). Was curious to see if anyone thinks ~$35-36k before TTL would be possible. Thanks in advance!

South Louisiana, but willing to drive/fly up to about 8 hrs. away if the deal seems worth it.

In Portland, Oregon and wondering the same. I'm looking for a DCSB w/ Premium Off-Road and Tech. Have spoken to four dealers: two say I'll have to wait 2-3 months for a truck to be allocated, one can trade in-network ($700 to drive the truck 10 miles down the interstate? lol) and the other CLAIMS to have two examples on the lot right now (neither is a color I want, though).

First quote was about $38,200 with the all weather mats (Costco program). Next quote was about $38,800 (no mats, essentially invoice + transfer fee).

If I give up and only ask for Tech I'm looking at around $35k before any attempt at negotiation. Not sure what to do! I want the JBL and dual climate controls, but will it be worth the markup? I worry that asking for a "rare" truck will hurt my ability to bargain. One salesman told me that production on the '18 year is already winding down.

When i bought my 2018 SR5 no Portland dealer could come close to Kendall of Bend and Kendall of Eugene. I ended up getting mine from the Eugene dealer. It might be worth reaching out to them if you haven’t yet. I got 4K off msrp, but my truck was on the lot. However, this was in December when the 2018’s just came out. That was about the best deal I had heard of for a 2018 at that time.

That's a good idea. Hadn't considered going out of town yet but if everyone's holding firm I'd consider it. Though that makes delivery a little challenging, unless I trade.

Interesting... like I said, totally anecdotal. Guess he just really hates haggling for the good deal.

Wow. No sales tax even on cars? That's pretty sweet. Don't you guys have to let other people pump your gas for you though?

There is a .5% “sales” tax on vehicles now. Started January 2018 which is why I bought end of December 2017 haha although .5% isn’t much.

Most cities, yes. But certain size cities you can pump your own diesel and gas now. That just started a few years back i think. It’s mainly east of the cascades towns from what I’ve seen.

What a terrible deal! Markup of 4,382 dollars!

Just kidding, I know your post is backwards... thank you for your service.

I did everything over the phone/internet for the most part. I got a one way rental car and got to the dealer as soon as it opened. I was driving home within 2 hours. Good luck!

I was having my truck serviced yesterday and the dealership had an 18 Pro in Calvary Blue if anyone is looking. $46,8??. Southern WV. 1st time I've seen that color.

It seems like that's the only color everyone is ordering. I see them at nearly every dealership across LA/MS/AL. I guess since it's a new and exclusive color, it is the IN thing. Pretty color, but they are going to be everywhere. I am also noticing a lot of "Cement" colored vehicles from different makes. Honda is darker and has more blue hue to it. We need some dark pros, I think next year is a dark blue pro...

Looking for pricing advice for new purchase (time to replace a beloved '05)...

Looking at '18 4x4 TRD Off-Road DCLB with Prem/Tech & accessories: All Weather Floor Liners+Sill Protector, Cargo Bed Lights (some regions call this a Kit instead and its not installed), Running Boards (Cast Aluminum or Stealth Black depending on region), Bed Step, Ball Mount, Trailer Mount, and in some regions Bed Mat. Preferred color combo is Magnetic Gray Metallic with Black leather trim, but in some regions I'd have to select Midnight Black Metallic with Black interior instead, which is fine.

I've built and priced on Toyota's website with a couple different zip codes and MSRP runs 42k-43k.

Willing to one-way ticket anywhere in US for a good deal... best region to buy and target price I should try to get to?
Seem to be seeing around 38k in some old threads, but wanted to double check.

    Thanks for any insight.

You are probably going to want to avoid Gulf South and South East distributors territory. However, since you’re looking at a high optioned OR, you may find the right seller wanting to dump the lot anchor. I have seen some decent deals come from the Northeast and Midwest. If there is a lot anchor around, they are going to start getting creative to move it. Do some searches on eBay and Craigslist as they may go that route to get more eyeballs. Anything in your accessories list not on it will easily be added to make the sale happen. Use those to hold the price but increase what the dealer needs to provide.
