Parasitic battery drain

    Shortened flowmaster exhaust with a turn down pipe, under cowl intake, throttle body spacer, train horn, underhood led lights, hood struts, dual 27f yellow tops. Led ditch lights, led front roof light bar, led fogs and headlights, behind grill mounted piaa dual color driving lights. Aux fuse and relay panel.     So as it turns out, I still dont know what the hell caused the draw. I traced all my wiring for my audio and couldn't find anything wrong. But, a while back I had gotten my ecu replaced as a result of my secondary air injection valve shorting out inside and frying the ecu. I decided to test again but on the interior panel this time. Following twalt87 advice on taking a pic of my fuse panel and pulling fuses out one by one but not replacing them until the test was done, I realized it didnt match. The mechanic who worked on my truck must have been in a hurry because both placement and ratings of the fuses didnt match the diagram. I never thought to check because I figured the truck was running when I got it back. So I moved them around till it matched the diagram and no more draw. At least its within acceptable limits now. Doesnt make much sense but I guess I wont really know until I let it sit for a day or two and see.

    That is an EXCELLENT write-up and explanation on how to test for parasitic draw. I don't need it but will remember it if I ever do.

    I made sure all my fuses were correct amperage and correct slot and it seemed a little better to me. But I went to a dual battery setup shortly after and replaced the existing battery with one that matches the second. The first I used as a backup on my trailer but it wouldn't hold a charge for long. Dead cell so it would charge up to 12+ and immediately start to drain. Might want to load test ur battery 1st, imo. Good luck

    Just to get this out. The fuse ratings have Nothing At All to do with a parasitic draw on a battery.

    Your right however if your fuse ratings are not correct and something were to short you could end up with a much bigger problem than popping a fuse. As I mentioned above I suggested that he load test his battery.

    If you run multiple fuses on one circuit you in fact would see a drop. Not that I said it was the culprit in my case, just relaying info in an effort to help
