what ucas for 6 inch drop bracket lift? and do they help with the wandering?

i was needing some oppinions on what upper control arms you guys with 6 inch lifts are running. and does it really help with the wandering issues ? my front end is tight but my taco is all over the road. i read the sticky about lift kits ..and it said ucas would correct this. i have priced light racing at 450, total chaos with the heim joints for 950 wow, and all pro for 650. i dont mind spending the money to make it right just dont want to waste bux on somthing that wont help. im running a procomp 6 inch drop bracket, co, and 305/55/20 tires @ 35 psi.also if anyone has a set for sale let me know

 

Good question, i was wondering the same thing. Im in need of some UCAs as well. Was really considering the LR UCAs, they seem to be working for everyone else. Interested in what is to be said also.

Are you sure its not the wind at highway speeds, mine gets blown around pretty good in the wind and sometimes it gets shakey

 

no it does that too but even in town it wants to go with the road all the time. just all over depending on the surface

 

i have the same lift and i dont have wandering problems at all. im running nitto trail grapplers in 295 70 17. have you had your alignment and camber checked?

 

I have a 6" Pro Comp lift with 35"x12.50"x18" Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains and it does the same thing. Ive had 3 different shops try to align it and they all say they cant bring the caster into spec. My truck wanders quite a bit. It gets real bad on rough roads. Maybe we need to get a group buy together for the guys who need UCA's. Can anyone make this happen??? lol

 

Get the LR UCA's and have them set your caster up at about 3* (It is higher than the factory specs) but your tires are bigger then the factory tires.

My truck was solid as a rock at 3* but I had to lower it to pass Recon here in Hawaii. I have it set at 2.7* and on rough surfaces over 65 mph it wanders slightly. When I have the time I will take my truck in and have my Caster put back up to 3.0*.

Funny how just .3* can make a difference.

LR UCA's work the best for the Fabtech set up because for some reason?? Fabtech makes the spindle 1" shorter then it should be.

I have heard dynabeads help with alignment. I have them in my 33s. Everything seems tiptop...

 

With a 6 inch lift a lot of you guys are running a 33-35+ inch tire. Those wider tires tend to follow grooves and patterns on rough/textured roads more than narrower ones. If (big "if") your alignment is okay, then the tires themselves may be contributing to the wandering.
