what this guy said. setup the derailleur from scratch.

Before pulling the derailleur look at it. The tall tale sing of a bent hanger is a scratched derailleur.

as mentioned make sure the rear cassette is tight.

    If is is the hanger
Park tools makes a great hanger alignment tool. It was one the first bike tools that I bought and it was a life saver to me as I was learning how to ride rocky and technical trails. You can realign a slightly bent hanger (as long as your wheels are mostly true) many times before it becomes too fatigued.

Quick 45 minute spin before work (Pleasanton Ridge). It's basically a 35 minute climb for a 10 minute downhill.

Loving the Ford Transit! I know we are on a taco forum, but one week in moab with my roof top tent (in the wind) set up while camping with a friends sprinter has really torn me on going the van route....

Boise is the same way. There is a climb there that takes me 3 hours. All for a 20-25 minute downhill. Hella fun though.

I am loving it too (Kind-of Bike related because that is 80% of the reason that we built it, Desert bike trip base). :) The Tacoma is 3 months from being fully paid for and we saved and saved for the Transit (much more reasonable brand new than a Sprinter but hard to find used if you want anything other than white).

I love my Tacoma and It can go so many more places than our Transit but having a metal tent on extended weekend trips is amazing.

We are headed to Sun Valley in a few weekends. Have you ever ridden there?

I fucking hate derailleurs. Any time I try to mess with them I fuck them up more. It's worth the $30 LBS charges for me

Yea and built in storage and kitchen, makes it really easy... Having both would be awesome, but I would have to choose one or the other.

The roof top/bed top tent option is great too. I would love to overland build the Tacoma but with big dogs it becomes more challenging to get them up in the tent.

Back to the Tacoma and Bikes: Are they anymore of those team races in Montana?

I've ridden in Sun Valley some great ridding. There was an old film that Steve Peat was featured in ripping up Sun Valley, I rode some of the same trails. You will love it!

Yea I like my set up because the dogs go in the back of the truck. But the wind really made me question using a tent... There are two team races that I'm aware of one here in Missoula and another in Thompson falls.

Awesome shot! Its beautiful down there! I've always thought Stanley would be the dream retirement area, but living in Montana is pretty nice too. My old man lives in Ketchum so I go there to visit a lot. Maybe we will have to plan a group ride...?
