Here’s some pics. Sorry about that dirtiness of the wheels. I did use a hair dryer.

 

The extra for most lies down flat and stays stuck. It could be that the wheels weren’t clean enough. No worries though A solution is you can take a VERY sharp knife and cut that off. Making sure you don’t cut into any area that is covering the chrome. Like you’re trimming dead skin. Think it’d work great.

 

The wheels were cleaned thoroughly before applying, and the truck was brand new anyways. If I were to cut it though, as you said, it would show chrome. So not sure how that would work

 

Prior to placing your decals make sure you clean and Degrease your wheels. Especially up by the tire. They usually lube the wheel so the tire slips on easily, the alcohol doesn’t always break that down. Also apply heat whether with a heat gun or blow dryer. I was told the outlet in the truck doesn’t produce enough juice to get the blow dryer hot enough. Just some tips that have been shared! Happy Vinyling!!!

 

Finally had a nice day to install these. They look great on the cement color!!

 

I have had mine on for about a month and had my first failure of the vinyl today. not sure if it had to do with parking partially in about 8" of snow prior to a hike or what but one of the wings on my front passenger side is missing now. I did not pressure wash the truck, only washed once with a regular garden hose.

 

Just a helpful FYI...You should be using Oracal 951 and not 651. 651 is a calendared vinyl and is meant for flat surfaces only. 951 is a cast vinyl that is made to conform to curved surfaces. That’s why the edges are peeling up.

Okay guys, there were some of you that loved the smiley face cards my daughter drew. So I digitized her smiley face and made stickers!! If you want one for you truck let me know. I’m still working out the pricing but they won’t be outrageous! Can also add to your vinyl decal order if you haven’t ordered those yet. Can do in colors other than white also.

 

This is a good suggestion. I like the look these vinyls add but the lifting means they definitely aren't able to be durable.

Any update on this? From seeing pictures of them installed I also notice that there are quite a few different areas that cannot be covered perfectly, especially the lip of the rim. I wish these wheels were more like the OR wheels and the machined silver did not go all the way to the lip
