Not so much that as how much you can cut off without changing the integrity of the support.

Ah! Yeah as long as you weld something back on you’re good to go. Hell, the metal I’m welding on is thicker than the stuff I cut off.

Yea, trust me, I am not questioning you, more so Toyota. Yea, you are not removing that much but you are still removing enough to make a difference.

Do you wear gloves when cutting? Ive heard you're not supposed to but I also feel like if a disc decided to go it wouldn't be pretty without a shield, and in some circumstances you can't use a shield. I remember I got a disc pinched in a cut and it shredded apart and dug pieces into a 2x4 nearby

Really? I’ve never heard that before. I almost always wear gloves, especially if I’m making big cuts like this. After seeing what happened to @Redmann hand, I’m extra cautious of cutting without a guard.

Today I was wearing boots, jeans, thick carhartt jacket, leather work gloves, hearing protection and double eye protection (glasses as well as a full face shield). I don’t want that disc breaking and sending shards into my bare arm.

All finished. I also hammered back the pinch weld a little more, wire wheeled it, and repainted it all.

You know, being as old as I am I had to look up what <3 meant because I kept seeing it more and more on here. Keep in mind, when I started on the web Earthlink and Dial Up were the shit.

So, awwwwww or , whichever you are most comfortable with.

Anybody know how can I post a quote into my signature? So it would look like a regular quote with op's screen name

Edit. Being on the phone most of the time in vertical orientation I didn't even see that you guys are using quotes that way....
Be so kind and point me in the right direction ( I know there was a write-up how to use hyperlinks and stuff I just can't find the right now)
