First off, I apologize if this has been asked before, I looked for a while and couldn't find anything out there.

I recently put a 2" lift on the front of my '17 TRD Pro which leveled it out a lot nice than the stock 1" difference it is supposed to have. So I'm looking at putting BFG T/A KO2s on it, up to 285/75/16, which is where I run into a problem... I'm pretty sure this wheel -
    https://parts.toyota.com/p/Toyota__...TRD-PRO-All-Around/69550553/PT7583517002.html
...is my stock TRD Pro wheel. In the specs it mentions the rim is only 7" wide.

On the BFG T/A KO2 specs sheet it says this 285/75/16 tire fits rims 7.5" - 9.0"

So the questions are - Is it impossible to put this tire on this rim? How much does it really matter? Is it dangerous or stupid to put this tire on?

    Thanks for any help.

The tire will more than likely rub your upper control arms.

Wheel spacers will relieve that, but increase rubbing in the cab mount area.

I'd suggest getting a different wheel with 'more' backspacing to accommodate the width of the tire.

Also, yes. A wider wheel would be optimal as well.

You can certainly cram a 285/75 onto a 7" wheel, but it's not going to fit on the actual truck. The tire probably won't wear quite right, but it will mount.

Wonder if anyone professionally would mount the tires anyways, since that is a liability on them waiting if anything goes wrong and it's found that they mounted a tire on a wheel that it wasn't supposed to go on.

Go to a place that sells used tires, they'll do it if it can be done.
