I'm sure it is great and a perfectly capable truck, but it is just so ugly looking. Like they said "Hey, lets take the Odyssey, chop it up, and put a bed on it!"

I think I 've only seen like 2 Chevy SS's since they came out, and I think they stoped producing them

    Yeah. Same here.

I've only seen one Impala and only a few new Malibus. Weirdly, the Malibus look better in pictures.

    Correct!

Super cool car actually, a bit overpriced, and looked way to much like a regular Impala.

They will be worth some coin in the future, especially the manuals.

When we bought my wife's new CRV, our long time Honda salesman saw my Tacoma outside, and he said "Oh, you should have looked at a Ridgeline". I laughed and said: "No thanks, I wanted a TRUCK."

The Ridgeline’s driver arm rests drove me nuts. That was an absolute deal breaker. I know it’s petty, but it’s true.

Notice that Ford and Dodge had to lump their series, respectively, into one common group. The F-150 is the closest to the Tacoma, so I’m curious to know what just those sales are. Lumping the 250 and up against the Tacoma isn’t an equal fight. It’ll be interesting to see if the Ranger will listed by itself or not, which I expect it would be.

It's a theme. Every monthly sales thread it takes 2-3 posts before someone brings up the Ridgeline. It's really weird. If we are going strictly by numbers we must conclude that the F-150 is 3x as good as the Tacoma and even the old Ram is twice the truck the Tacoma is. Also it's sad to see the Tundra is 1/8th of the truck the Ford is :(

I've long been a serious Honda/Acura fanboy. This is exactly why I didn't buy a Ridgeline. My wife already has a Honda Pilot and the Ridgeline is basically the exact same car with a bed instead of a third row. I wanted something a little more hardcore that we could use for camping and off roading with my sons. Still makes me sad Honda doesn't make a real truck. But I'm in love with the Taco, first Toyota I've ever owned and I don't regret it at all. Do wish it had some of those cool Honda storage solutions though. Been struggling with simple things like where to keep my phone and pocket change. Honda never misses those things.... but then again they don't make a real truck so here I am...

Give it a couple years for Rangers to start eating into F150 sales and we'll know.

Just bought my truck last month. I'll admit if I'd seen deals like this on the Z71 Colorado last month, I'd have been more tempted to go that direction. Hate to say it, but their interiors were nicer in many ways and they came with more standard equipment that appealed to me like Android Auto, all 4 auto windows, etc ... There was noticeably more low end torque too. The Z71 I drove felt super sporty compared to my Taco.

But in the end Toyota sold me with a great dealership experience and 1.9% financing for 60 months. Practically free money.

The Chevy dealer I went to was super old school with outdated shady sales tactics.

No, because Ford and Dodge count their 3/4 and 1 ton trucks in their numbers. Would be interesting to see what just F150 sales were.

    Edit: The F series includes F150, F250, F350, F450, F550, F650 and F750. THAT'S what is included in the report.

Edit Edit: Here's a quote on F 150 sales: "The on-paper EcoBoost advantages are noteworthy, and they’ve gradually eaten into the F-150 5.0-liter’s slice of the gigantic F-150 pie. Ford doesn’t break down F-Series sales figures, but if production is matched to demand, we can safely assume 65 percent of F-Series sales so far this year are of the F-150 variety. That should work out to around 578,000 F-150 sales in the 2017 calendar year (if the 2018 refresh doesn’t spur greater demand.) Carry the one, multiply by the square root, move the decimal, hold the mayo…"

So, let's say Ford grows the F150 by 4-5% to 600,000 for 2018, then that means they sell around 50K a month. Slightly more than 2X the Tacoma sales. That sounds right.

I would rather have something that looks like a car but hauls like a truck.

    Ridgeline Payload: 1,586lbs
    Tundra Crew 4x4 Payload: 1,440lbs

Than something that looks like a truck and hauls like compact car.

    Tacoma 4x4 Payload: 1,120lbs
    Ford Focus Payload: 1,055lbs.

Let's not even go the minivan route. Any minivan will crush the Taco in payload.

The Focus and the Ridgeline will be most comparable in things like ground clearance.
