2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

A while back he got the Camry tune and tried it on the Tacoma when he had access to a dyno. He said it seemed the Tacoma numbers that were published seemed to be a little low and the Camry numbers seemed to be a little high because there was almost no difference. In reality they arent really all that far apart in actual power even though they may appear so according to Toyota. The Camry is also making the power higher in the RPM band. You can easily have pretty significant variations in dyno numbers based on the conditions.

The throttle response might be better in the Camry but I’m going to drive a Tacoma different than a Camry. I had mine complaints about it stock but I’m not sure what more you could want over 1.04. I’d rather have it a bit less responsive for off road driving or poor weather conditions than more responsive and hard to drive in less than ideal conditions. He’s also said thats something that he can adjust easily with the custom tuning (which happens when he gets back)

OV tune woke up the truck very happy with everything looking forward to any updates and a 93 tune and some data logging.

Even Matt doesn't expect any advantage by eliminating Atkinson and as far a timeline between now and next year.

 

Well then forced induction is the only savior.... and it seems pretty damn hard to get it as no one currently is offering it :-|
