So a question. I did do the speaker upgrades. And like my 2016 TRD OR DBL cab that got totaled and my current TRD OR when using Panora via my iPhone the sound is typically weak, meaning I have both the phone volume up all th way and the volume in the truck all the way up to 60 and the sound is mediocre loudness wise. Is that common?

What's it like when you hook up via aux cable? I've yet to stream in my truck aux or Bluetooth, I'm still on the Sirius trial. Also, do you have the volume all the way up on your phone?

Phone volume all the way up. I’ll try via aux cable.

May be worth a shot. Hopefully someone else will have suggestions also. Good luck to you.

yeah, no clue my friend. I'd try some other apps from your phone. Trying aux isn't a bad idea but I can tell you I have only ever listened over bluetooth and the clarity and volume are great

My phone volume is always on max, the head unit volume - depends on what I'm listening to. Generally about 2/3 volume... and if I want to blast it I'll go to 90-95% volume

I think it may depend on if you got the premium tech package or not. I also think if your knobs are on the bottom of the head unit, it's the 7 inch. That's what mine is anyways

    I didn’t quite make it to $250, but I’m barely at $300.

Parts arrived, mostly Amazon and eBay specials. Sub was $77 shipped on Prime, amp was on eBay for $88 shipped, and I found a kicker ck8 wiring kit new in box for $40 shipped. I also got an “add an amp” wiring kit from eBay for $20. Once I add some speaker wire to go from the amp to the sub I’ll be all-in at about $230.

The amp is rated at 200w rms at 4 ohm and 300w rms at 2 ohm, so if I decide to add more bass later I can just run a second 8” in parallel and still have enough power. If I still need more, a third sub would fit but I’d want a 1 ohm stable mono amp to power it. The sub and box fit in the back seat cubby’s and just drop in. No cutting, trimming, etc needed.

One will fit in the drivers side, and two can fit in the passenger side. Since I have car seats, I plan to put mine in the passenger cubbies in the middle of the truck and if I add a second sub a second in the passenger side.

I also got a set of Subaru tweeters for my birthday last week and they have helped tremendously on the mids and highs. I also managed to get them on sale for $77 so my overall upgrade cost is right at $300, would have been closer to $400 at full retail. Hoping to get the sub and amp installed this weekend.

I've gotten mixed opinions from a Google search so I'm going to ask here.

I'm ordering the kicker CS series 6x9, 6.5, ana tweeters. My question is this, would I benefit from a Kenwood excelon ammo to run the door speakers?
