One of the things I miss about my Honda Ridgeline was the 2 way swinging tailgate. The other was the hidden waterproof compartment in the box.

 

Mercedes is pretty much never a middle-class car. New is upper-middle to upper class, and used usually goes to poor people, who buy it because of its image, and then end up dumping it when they realize how much maintenance costs.

 

That statement was beautiful.

 

Rolls-Royces depreciate, but never lose their prestige (or their maintenance costs)!

Here's another German-built 4-door luxo-tank with paint/body issues. This car probably cost at least $40,000 new, and it has the clear coat peel and paint fade you'd expect from a 1990s American-built shitbox!

 

My dad bought '96 Pathfinder new and had it for more than 13 years. Aside from spending maybe a year of its life under a carport during the time we lived in California, I don't think it spent any time in a garage. It still looked great when we traded it in '2009...

 

Why are drunk women bigger slobs than drunk men?!?! One look at the ladies' restroom at work and even this one female bartender agrees with me!

I'm not big on it. Looks like what was said above about a Fiesta that hits the gym. My wife kept pushing for an Escape when we were car shopping but I didn't see the need to spend all that extra money on a CUV vs. a sedan. Every mechanic I talked to was anti Ecoboost in the Escape's.

 

I think it’s a utilitarian car for someone who lives in the city. Carries 4 people, can carry a good amount of cargo, gets good gas mileage, and it’s small enough to park in crowded parking lots. That checks off what most people look for in a car these days. It really doesn’t look that bad either but it’s not supposed to be a fun car. More power to Ford if it sells well.
