Hahaha you must not know me too well lol. I know how to wash and wax without creating swirls....problem is....it’s a whole lot more work to keep black clean and shiny. I’d rather not go back black lol

Can anyone shed some light on the "property tax on vehicles" when registering in SC?

No worries brother! He got a bit of free time this Thursday and text me this morning to see if I could swing it...told him to come on down.

Sounds like Duke's is happening the end of this week then!

Yeah...threw me for a loop when I moved here from CA. SC sales tax on a vehicle is maxed out at $300 (or $500 now...if they increased it) but you pay property tax every year on your vehicle. That tax is dependent on the county you live in...some are much MUCH higher than others. The tax is due every year on date of registration renewal.

That's ridiculous, is that to cover infrastructure?

What is sales tax there? Here is 6% but no tax on food. I don't know how State income tax compares to other places. They'll get the money one way or another.

6% here too. I have potential openings to transfer through work to Greenville SC, Asheville NC, or Wilmington NC. I was leaning towards SC due to the lower housing costs but trying to figure out the miscellaneous costs now

There is a good group of TW guys in wilmington and some in Asheville as well. Not sure about the comparison in housing costs of those places but all 3 I think are decent areas to move to.

Infrastructure is a joke...but essentially yes. I think Greenville's vehicle tax is super low. @Daria has a comparison since she moved there from another county prior to AZ.

Just verified vehicle sales tax. 5% with a $500 cap. So what they don't get up front with sales tax, they get with property tax. But property tax goes down every year with depreciation. And rate does depend on the county and even what district you are in the county.

Saw this plate in my travels this past weekend I find it a little ironic and surprised that SC gov't would allow a plate like this. Not the best pic. But is was a visit SC plate with the stars and bars that irony is too funny.
