Anyone with a supercharger and a 5 speed manual trans can make that happen for you. High gear/low RPM is a sure-fire way to get ping with a supercharger...not that you'd ever want to do that on purpose. Ping is a terrible sound, you can't really mistake it for anything else.

267k with a rusting out frame, I’ll pass. I decide I’m not gonna buy anything else for it. Maybe rebuild my kings so I can enjoy it more for the last while.

It can be nuanced, mine is hard to hear but the feel and the faint sound is still unmistakable. But really any 5vz is easy to make ping, they do it without boost because their timing map base is too high in low RPM.

The worst is when the cruiser pings (pretty rare being 9:1 compression and an auto) but I managed to do it pulling the trailer coming from a stoplight, literally sounded like the trailer hitch was jangling around.

It is sad, but reallllly, screw it, the body’s Rusting, the beds rusting, the tail gates rusted, the frames not great. Probably all my fault, learn to live with it.

I’m hoping she’ll make it another year or so. Get some money saved.

I’ve got a friend that’d probably give me a pretty good deal on a newly painted, black, four door, 1st gen tundra.

Only down fall is no locker, and the color.

I can't help, I don't have any of that stuff in the way, on a 4cyl you could pull it all from the top or bottom.

As long as it isn't one of those hideous step side Tundras (not sure if that was 1st or 2nd gen).

Locker can always be added on later.

Step sides are cool when you slam them and make a street truck, or a old square body pickup

Lifted trucks with step sides are ugly
