I've got a scrap pile from my house...as long as people don't mind 2x4s for fire wood?

I would only bring the non treated pieces of dimensional lumber*

I can bring as much firewood as we need as long as somebody brings a chainsaw and a way to split the wood.

Edit - whoops guess Skootter14 already said the same thing earlier tonight

More like mid-day. Staying the night in OC, then I'll just cruise over after rush hour has died down.

Damn - that sucks Mike! At least you didn't lose all the contents and not too much was damaged.

I have (2) Pop-up shelters "on loan" from my SAR unit. I'm building out the interior of our comm. trailer, so all the gear is in my garage right now. I can probably grab a 3rd from my parents, if we'll need it.

I'll also grab as much wood as I can fit - some of it is seasoned, some of it punky, some of it fresh (but full of pitch, so it'll burn)

I have a chainsaw I can bring if needed. Along with all sorts of other cutting implements: (2) hatchets, small axe, 3.5lb axe, 6.5 lb maul, a couple folding saws and burly chopping blades.

As long as it's not toxic and won't taint my biscuits - the more the merrier (esp. if it will be raining). I used to stock-up on Wal-Mart pallets on the way out of town, but have become more refined in my years. :D

We can all take turns pretending to be Paul Bunyan - I'll bring the axes and red flannel shirts....we just need to add alcohol and a few drops of machismo.

so....can someone bring an SWR with them? I do not have one and I have been trying to trouble shoot my CBs:

I have a cobra75WXST and it has worked great all the time. I let a buddy use my old Midland handhelp the other week and we heard each other when we were right beside one another, but the minute I got a car length away, he could hear me transmit but I could not receive his. I just tested this again tonight and the same thing.

I am trying to figure out if its my cobra with firestick antenna OR is it the shitty old midland hand held plugged into the cigarette lighter with 9" antenna. . . I think the midland but I'm just not sure. I'm hoping its not the cobra since its a nicer set up and running off a long firestick antenna. I dont think I have any neighbors to test my cb with either, unfortunately.

Also, @NorthwestCruiser I have the cb leash hooked up and like it way better than balancing it in my lap or sticking it in the pocket by the right knee of the driver. Thanks again

I'll have my swr with me. There isn't really any prime area to dial it in the right way at Brown's. But, we can get ya close.

Mine's in the Taco already. I use a Midland handheld and it performs good with my magnetic whip.

Sweet, I’m hoping it isn’t the cobra but it’ll be nice to verify.

I’m thinking the crappy stock antenna is the culprit of the midland

Do you need a tool to trim length from the antenna?

Trim antenna? Idk about all that. I know the fire stick has the twist tip under the red cap, but the midland handheld doesn’t have anything like that.

Based on that pic - we could probably get that all bucked-up with the maul and maybe a wedge.

I aint that skilled - but I did find this guy exploring in the Olympics last month:
