Exactly. That is the entire purpose of an oil filter.

I personally wouldn't bother, but if you really want to you should find another dealership. If you're willing to pay for the oil to be changed, they should do it.

I change every 10k on a new vehicle then once it hits a certain mileage I stop caring.

8000km until the first oil change was recommended by toyota all 3 new purchases. Not sure what the miles are. 1.6 times less?

It absolutely wouldn't hurt, but why??? Just do what the manual says.

A few years ago my brand new Porsche said 15K or one year. That's what I did. Even with all the auto-crossing. Never an issue.
    Simple.

I’d run almost any used oil for 10k miles especially synthetic.

Back in the day, my buddy took my 5k used synthetic oil and ran it in his truck for another 5k, the bastard never paid for oil!

Which got me thinking. I drive my truck about 3k miles a year and my car 50k miles. So now, once a year I drain the synth oil in the truck and run it in the car up to 10k miles for one of it’s changes. It doesn’t know the difference.

As for the diffs and trans that I changed to Redline (one of the only Group V ester synth) I may never change them again.

Honda, for example, uses a factory fill with higher than average molybdenum which provides better lubrication in the break-in process. Not saying that Toyota or anybody else does that but it's important to note that the manufacturer thought it was enough of a big deal to develop and spec a oil that is not (to the consumer) available off-the-shelf.

Over at BITOG the oil analysis on the current Toyota oil shows very low moly which leads many to believe its Mobil 1.

Maybe the engines are ready to race from the factory with no break in.

If you insist on 1k, I'd do it yourself and keep it off your service record. I bet if Toyota knew, and later down the line you had engine troubles, they'd deny warranty coverage based on the oil change.

I wanna say around 1976, I think they actually called the Cordoba a Charger for 1 year prior.

No, the Cordoba was a B body. In '73 that would have been a Satellite or Coronet.

Yur right, the Magnum was actually the 'sport' version of the Charger that year....I think.....boy, they were floundering.

edit: I'm wrong again, there was nothing good about B bodies that year, least not here. Mexico had a decent Fury.

Anything that was found in the filter was there after 25 miles , and will be there in the same spot after 10K THATS WHAT A FILTER DOES. its not going to dissolve!
but yes i had them change it at 5K, and because and the first 1K i hardly even pushed the gas down hard.
Save your money and lube your driveline instead as that was not done very well..
just read the 100 post on it.
