Yep, and if I put snacks right on top like little protein packs, I can easily reach my hand behind me and grab one out when I am stopped at a stop light and so forth. Which is pretty damn awesome!

Not an issue at all for me! I have mine mounted to when I open the lid I can actually use the grab handle on the ceiling to hold the lid open if I needed to load stuff up or unload a bunch of stuff.

Not to mention, it would not be hard to replicate building another platform if someone wanted, and even building one better now that I know what to do...

Absolutely! I don't keep the fridge in the truck all the time, so i use the platform for groceries, throwing my gym bag on it, pretty much anything, it would be a perfect dog platform if you had it built all the way across the back of the seat. My dog climbs around back there all the time when he is in the back seat and have not had any issues.

I'm wondering if dog and fridge could live in harmony

It looks tall enough in @ETXTacoma's truck that I dont think the dog would even try and get on top of the fridge. It only uses seat area behind the driver and would still leave her the passenger and center area which should be plenty of space to keep her happy.

*Edit just looked at pics again and the top is about the height of the window. Still tall enough that I think it would work. I would do probably do a full platform across the back though to give the dog a good solid base to stand and balance on instead of the soft seat.

Possibly, if not, it would not be hard to add in divider of some sort to seperate the 60 and 40 section of the rear seat so the pup stays on the 60 section of the seat.

    Hell yea it is!

Yep, it could possibly work, but maybe not tall enough to keep the pup from trying to go over the top of the fridge lol. But some right angle metal and another piece of wood and would make a simple divider to keep them separated. But yea, a full platform would be more idea honestly and would not be hard to build and have attached in multiple points once the rear seat is completely removed.

I've been thinking for a while about pulling my entire backseat and making a platform with a shallow drawer in place of the lower seat pulling open out each door for more easily accessible storage. I think it could work well for dog food/toys, my clothes or recovery gear. I need a place to store my stock seats though because I would have to keep them to be able to switch back to having actual seats if the need arose.

Would not be hard, just adding a drawer would raise the platform up more than you may want honestly. Would possibly be easier to have the platform hinge somehow so you could access the under-seat storage possibly and store stuff there?

Yea, I just leave my seat in a spare closet, but since removing it, I have yet to have a reason to throw it back in there. People now know that I don't have a seat behind me and most people don't mind since I have the Molle storage on the seat and the leg room is pretty much not there anyways...

Dog is more important than beer, she gets full reign of the backseat

Well... then I am not sure, if you want it in the truck, that is about the only options I can think of unless you removed the passenger front seat and built a platform there lol...

Or get an all element fridge and mount it in the bed?

The only other thing I could say is to have it mounted side ways and on a slide and as far forward to your seat as you can, that way Belle can have full reign on the back seat and can go between the fridge and the back wall to poke her head out the drivers side door?

I have thought about the height it would be with a drawer and thats why it have to be a shallow one. I would have to get measurements to see if it was even worth it but I figure any more space I can get back from the dog is better than what I've lost since getting him. Hes a big boy and takes up 2/3's of the seat just to lay down. The goal of the drawers is to get back some accessible storage with the dog still in the truck. Right now he has to be taken out and his hammock partially removed to get to the rear seat storage under or behind. Not very good If I need something thats being stored quickly. Adding a roof rack and a couple plano cases would also help with this but thats money I dont have right now.
I feel you on that. I've known for a while that when I decide(can afford) to add a fridge it will have to go in the bed(on the bedslide now that I have one :D). I cant take any more space away from the pup besides maybe an inch or so in height. Thats even questionable since his head can hit the roof already when hes standing on the seat if he postures up. His head/ears have taken patches off my roof just from him moving around. I keep telling myself another dog will fit in that back seat in a year or 2 without it being to crowded.

Mine's not all weather rated but the soft topper is just enough to protect it. Perhaps you could rig up a canvas cover underneath your bed rack?

We have 4 snomasters in a small tradie trailer down in Australia that we drag around in the bush. 300 watts of solar and 200 amp hours of battery. They are about 4 years old now I think, never one problem. They are the stainless model but I forgot what size.
