I can appreciate this thread, I built a space suitable for camping, tailgating, picnicking, and drive-in movie enjoyment.
    ARE MX shell.
Platform storage with aux battery and inverter.
    Lightspeed self inflating pad.
Uni strut framework on ceiling for led lighting and future fold down tv mount (great for tailgating).
12v amplifier from parts express and Bose bookshelf speakers.
I can carry my kayak on the roof rack and bike on a hitch mount bike carrier.
I carry a small tent to unload and store gear.
Finally, I needed new suspension to support the ton of shit that I carry.

Thanks to all the great feedback so far!

I am not looking for a cap, because I like to sit on the bed and be exposed to the open air, but away from all the insects on the ground.

So you want to get out in the great outdoors so you can sit in your truck bed and play video games?

    Dude, just stay home.

Perfect response. People typically knock what they are jealous of, my guess, is that guy would park next to the OP and rub one off to the sound of his guitar, He sounds that desperate to be accepted.

I really don't think it is...look at his other posts.

In another thread he literally cannot find any non-paved surface to "exercise" his 4x4.

Really, the only way to keep your electronics secure is a cap. No bed cover is going to be sufficient for what you're looking to do -- especially if your gaming requires a TV.

I 2nd the recommendation @ajmogen made for an ARE MX. It'll give you lots more headroom. If you pay an extra $1500, you can get the walk-in option so the entire rear flips up. It's actually really useful if you use your truck for hauling equipment or cargo instead of gravel or sod or motorcycles. I have a MX with walk-in on my Taco and like it way more than the V series I used to have.

My wife and I play a lot of video games, we're big into Stardew Valley right now since multiplayer just came out. Before that, PUBG, TF2, CSGO, lots others. I'd totally dig playing that somewhere scenic, but don't see that happening easily with PC games. Gaming rigs are big and produce a lot of heat. Are you planning on PC gaming or console gaming? This whole thing becomes a heck of a lot simpler if you can do console gaming or portable gaming with a switch or similar -- less power.

Either way, I'd get a Honda EU2000 for your generator. It'll have capacity for your guitar amp, stereo, and any console gaming. An EU1000 may work, but the cost difference is so low that you should just get the bigger genset for more capacity. Most generators are LOUD, and will be distracting. The EU2000 is quiet. If you set it up at the front of the truck, it would be pretty quiet at the bed.

One question, why'd you get the OR? I would have gotten a configuration that comes in long bed. There's a LOT more room in a long bed.

Interested in this thread. Im hoping to turn my truck into a mobile bakery so I can park next to a glacier and make cakes and cookies. I need dual ovens though and want to run electric not gas. It all has to fit in a truck tool box also. Orthodox Jewish as well so it has to be a kosher kitchen.......

I dont even know what the hell is going on in this thread.

Sounds like a planned approach to what many probably do impromptu. I say go for it! You know what you want, now just make it happen.

Perhaps a cover, then a cage like dissent makes. Then a swing out 270 degree wing.
