Ok question for the folks running one of these various models of headlights...

Has anyone ised the “upgraded” headlight system that has been posted in another thread? The higher wattage bulbs and harness that fit into stock housings?

If so (I hope someone has) how do you like it?!

I’m thinking about upgrading all my lights soon on my 2013

Edit: this thread particularly. Ultimate headlight upgrade

I have seen the version for my truck and I’m debating heavily due to the fact they are cleaner looking that the others I’ve come across on the internet. Only downside is they say LEDs are incompatible and void any warranty

DRL is actually the same as stock, "yellow bulb".. in the tacomabeast set I just installed. The LED bar is turned on with your park light setting. The LED bar also is lit with your headlights.

Chad and I were referring to removing the halogen low beam in the projector and replacing with an LED

They do look good on your truck!

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up for those interested in these lights. On eBay, DT Moto, OEMassive and VipMotoz are all the same sellers that operate under Spyder.

I upgraded my existing Spyder Black U-Bar headlamps which used the H9 Hi/Lo halogen bulb. And the OEM H11 halogen fog lamps with LEDs from http://www.headlightexperts.com .Here are before and after photos. I also have the matching rear lamps.

I also installed switchbacks from ebay on the front turn signal lights. Used resistors to fix hyperflash.88EC6728-48D0-4F00-A2B9-55038924C0E9.jpg28FC5743-6FFF-4FCE-9E33-7D67565016B0.jpg B5E63D07-BA47-46F8-8BFD-5B63E9551E83.jpg

Nice clean install. I just bolted my ballasts to those same spots.

Thanks. I used some aluminum plates and cut to size so that the resistors can be mounted without drilling on the body.

I have owned these lights for about 2 months. I feel that is long enough for me to make a decent review as the newness of bro g happy since I just spent money is gone.

I bought the lights with installed HID's from Protuninglab.com. one of the reasons that I bought from them was that having HIDs in them did not void the warranty. Also they install the HIDs and I didn't have to mess with that.

Putting in my truck was pretty easy. Adjusting them sucks as you need to unbolt the battery and washer fluid reservoir to get at the vertical adjustment....
THEY put off tons of light with the HID setup, but do not blind people. I have had friends drive opposite me to check.

After owning g them about a month I noticed condensation inside the passenger housing. I took pics and emailed protuninglab. There response to this warrenty claim was to tell me to go buy a tube of silicone and fix it myself. I should contact them in a few weeks if that didn't work.
I poured out a cup if water and put a hairdryer into the hole for a hour to dry it out. Then unsealed them up and reinstalled. They have been dry for a month.

So I'm happy with the look, and light output. Very dissapointed with the dealwr. Should have bought them at the cheapest place possible and installed my own hid.

Just bought the 05-11 version from Tacomabeast, and am looking to get some HID's from eBay today with the 20% off coupon today. Can anyone confirm the bulb size for the 05-11 version?

I would not do that. Hids take a bit to heat up and become useable. So flipping between low and high beam there will be a few seconds of darkness since they are a dual beam headlight.

Not sure I follow. the 05-11 have separate bulbs for high and low beams, so the lows stay on, and the highs come on when you need them. I don't intend on doing the highs in HID, just the lows that are in the projectors.
