Yes it was. Thats with tax, 5 yr warranty, delivery and hook up. As well as extraction and removal of my old units.

All in all its really not bad. But I'd rather have coilovers that I had been saving for. Although, clean clothes are nice.

High end appliances can usually be repaired a few years into their lives. Cheap shit shows up "NLA" when you go to get parts. Pay me now or pay me later.... Much prefer good stuff if that's an option.

 

When my wife and I re-did the kitchen and laundry room I think are washer alone was like close to $800 if im not mistaken. (Whirlpool gold series)

 

Our dryer is 15 years old, rebuilt some of it been great. Not a super technical one either. Washer made it it 12 years and couldn't fix it myself. It ran out of time. Got a new one last year, went through consumer reports and consumer reviews to find a good solid one. Bought, picked up, and installed myself.

 

We ended up getting a $3k set for $1300 on Black Friday a few years ago. Ours is a top load He set. Don’t care for front loads.

 

I'm not going to talk about whip cracking sounds because no one gets it, but me.

 

I paid $85 for a set 2 years ago. Both are maybe 10 years old or less. Not fancy =more shit to break.

$85 was for the washer. Lines froze one winter and had to replace the solenoid unit. Was a bitch, but they are mine for less than $100. Not no re-fucking-tarded $1000+

Same, our new washer is top load. Smaller than my old unit with larger capacity, love it!

Got my old set off CL for around ~150

over 5years out of em trouble free.

It’s not about that. You pay for a quality tool that lasts. I used to be just like you. I finally got tired of replacing or fixing shit all the time. I also make 3x now what I did back then so I can afford it now.

First thing I splurged on was a Bosch jig saw in 1994. I still have it today and it works like the day I got it. Buy once cry once. Then sit in joy when you get to use something for a long time.

So why didn’t you buy TRD Bilsteins and a spacer lift?

 

Both my washer & dryer are simple basic models with none of the fancy electronic crap to fail (it's inevitable). Both are still.going strong after 15+ years.

I chose these on the advice of the appliance repair man that came to fix the belt on my previous dryer. His primary advice/guidance was "buy the basics, all washers & dryer basically do the same thing, simple models are easy to fix and parts are in abundance."

This advice has paid off...

 

It's too bad that nothing seems to last very long these days...
