Well guys, it's come that time in my life that I am ready for a new truck. After narrowing down my choices between a new Tacoma and a new F-150, I have decided for go with the Ford. :crapstorm:. Reasons being: after shopping around for months now, a new DC Tacoma Trd 4x4 with all the bells and whistles would cost me about $34,000 after I added Weathertech window visors and floormates(a must in any of my vehicles). A new F-150 supercrew lariet would only cost me about $30,000 with the Weathertech add-ons. In addition, I do not like the fact that new tacomas have a plastic bed. I have heard some 2nd gen guys saying that their beds are seperating. my third and final reason is the size, I am 6'3" and even though I fit comfortably in the front of a new tacoma, the person sitting behind me, would not be so comfortable, not the case in the F-150. But do not totally shun me guys, I am still keeping my '99 tacoma. So anyhow, I am not saying that Ford is better than Toyota, I have owned several Tacomas throughout my driving life, but at this point, for my needs and what I want, an F-150 is the ticket.

I think you really thought this through, the Ford F-150 is the best selling truck in America for something like 30 years. Good luck with your new truck!

No need to defend yourself on this choice - I didn't like the build quality of my '08 Tacoma and for what they are they are extremely expensive. They're both American trucks these days, so get whatever fits your lifestyle. Ford is producing some quality vehicles. I saw an older style ('97) F150 with aftermarket wheels and it looked sharp. Remember that the 1st Gen Tundra was modeled after that F150. I love the King Ranch editions.

The F-150 is a pretty awesome truck. It would be my choice as well if I didn't have a taco or needed a V8. I was looking at the Raptor SVT today and I must say it is a very enticing vehicle. Good luck with the new truck.

Excellent Choice, At least FORD still makes REAL trucks, My next truck will likely be an F100, Costs much less than a Tacoma and a more capable truck. the Tacoma keeps getting more and more pussified. Might as well rename it to; "Soccer mom Grocery Getter". I wouldn't be surprised if the next Tacoma is Unibody like the ridgeline:rolleyes:

While I was visiting my local Ford dealership, they mentioned that the F100's were coming out the end of this year. I inquired more, and basically it's a 9/10 scale F-150, kinda pointless to me, and about the same money wise, but still a good idea to bring the f100 back. f.y.i. they are also bringing back the bronco.

i believe that is going to be their goal, and a few of the guys believe they are going to offer them with solid front axles.

    WHO?

But yeah, if I was any taller I probably would have gone with something else. I like the newer f-150s, good looking trucks.

As far as the F100 goes, I think they got pushed back till 2012 and they are going to continue to make the Ranger for another year, but I could be wrong. And also I think it's a little early to be saying that it's going to be better than the tacoma when all they have is a concept sketch of the thing and a name for it (TacomaBuzz).
