I rather like the octominer board. I ordered a second one for the new rig. The cards do run a bit hotter if you don't have any fans blowing air over them though. Mostly cause the cards sit a lot closer to each other vs a riser rig. I ended up ordering two of their cases too to try out

Its not a bad price for a plug-n-play. You could build it cheaper if waiting for deals and stuff. I'm not a big fan of the XFX cards personally

 

Keyword "waiting", deals on RX 580s are rare. I also like that the complete rig also comes with a warranty for everything including cards.

 

True. I'm happy with the 570's since its not much of a difference. But yeah finding 8 of all the same cards at once takes time.

 

Did you notice how prices have gone down? I assume because of the market? I also heard of a new chip coming out soon but not sure if that's true since I haven't seen anything else out there

 

Yup prices have been steadily going down. Nvidia has the new line coming out at some point. The 11XX series. But nobody is sure when that will be as they haven't been released yet. Same nobody knows what the real availability will be on them. Rumors have put the announcement in July/August and release probably December from what Ive seen. The roadmap for AMD shows new cards in 2019.

But if things continue like they have itll only be ~15% increase overall in performance. And nobody knows how much gains their will be in mining specifically since GPU's don't use a full GPU

115 complaints. Out of thousands...if not hundreds of thousands of accounts thats a drop in the bucket.

Some of the complaints highlighted also sounds...fishy. Like transferring from one account to another. Did you mess up the address? Why transfer in the first place? Same people having huge investments and leaving them in coinbase Oo


Still scary.

 

A wise person once told me people will wreck themselves on pride before admitting they were wrong. I'm sure there's a lot more people that have been boned, but the idea of coming forward is just not going to happen
